About Me

That's the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria! ~ Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes

I'm enjoying new adventures every day. Eating delcious food, loving incredible people, and helping my soul to grow a bit more....with every moment. Let's go play -- who knows what's in store?

My Interests

Being outdoors, going out to eat. Cooking kick-ass meals. Live music... every single kind! Trying new things. Reading. Coffee. Tea! Festivals. Friendships. Good converstaions. and relaxing.

I'd like to meet:

I'm up for meeting all kinds of folks, but I actually spend time with people who are upfront, genuine and happy. As people we have such a great opportunity to positively influence one another.... it is important to contribute to the greater good. My good friends are the most beautiful souls that I can imagine. I am so inspired and supported by them. They challenge me to let love be my guide. But... we do not do this in a uber-serious manner. We do this by playing with toys, talking in silly voices, screaming out loud, dancing like madwomen, crying our eyes out, hugging one another tightly, and laughing loudly!

Music:

Really, I listen to lots of music. Music of all kinds! I rarely spend a moment without some music playing. Listening to live music is my idea of perfection. The blues sounds like home to me literally and figuratively. If you share good recommendations for great new music, than I will probably adore you...

Movies:

Harold and Maude

Television:

I hardly ever watch it. In fact, I actually keep my tv tucked away under a table and I only pull it out for an occasional movie night. Not saying that I'm above being sucked in... but I've managed to avoid being sucked in for the past 6 years and I hope to keep it that way.

Books:

I read a lot. I average one book a week. Right now I am into a few books about Alaska. My favorites are my collections of travel essays. I love to read short stories, but the best ever are non-fiction essays about people's personal thoughts and experiences. I dream of writing down all of my stories about the crazy antics I get into -- but I'm not much of a writer, so I might let my talented roommate make sound recordings of my storytelling instead. No, that will not free any of you from hearing my stories all the time anyway... I can't help it!

Heroes:

Many, many people. My heroes are anyone who stands up for what they believe, lives live with passion, and leads others to do the same.

Thankfulness

On the heels of an eloquent entry by KDS, I've decided to post a short list of the things I am most grateful for in my life. He is right in saying that expressing gratitude is a spiritual practice, an...

new, unidentified turf around the corner

Yes, it's one of those times.... a transition is on the horizon. And it's a good one, I think. I know and love my home, my friends, and myself. I feel grounded and content. But, ready for a change. Af...

boundaries

Conversations of the idea of boundaries keep developing in recent interactions. The question is whether boundaries or at least a set of parameters is essential to, well.... to what exactly, I don't kn...

anticipation, joy, cool waters, life at large

I wrote this bit of an email to some of my closest friends about a week ago. I woke up.... at 5am. Wide awake. I was visualizing myself in a sea kayak in Glacier Bay. I will be there in a month. There...

Springtime

One of  my best buds told me today that I'm "cracked out on Spring", and I think he might be right. All I want to do is dance, smile, laugh, sleep, hug, and love, love, love! I sleep well and of...

this week's horoscope

It's perfectly fine for you to have dreamy eyes in the coming days --wistful, hopeful, liquid eyes that are more focused on the fantasies within than on the sights without.  Muse to your heart's ...
