My Bio:
Originally from Hiram Clarke, this Houston native has been rapping since he was a six grader at Pershing Junior High. Rob says he was inspired by the look and style of artist like The Fat Boys and Run DMC from the early days of hip hop.In 1989 Rob Quest began to lose his sight due to a rare health condition. Because he started losing his site, he couldn't spend time riding bicycles, playing outside or doing things "normal" kids do, Rob Quest started rapping and producing beats seriously after his mom bought him his first drum machine in 1989.He started working on drum machines and perfecting his craft on the Yamaha RX 5 and later on he got the RX 7, the drum machines of choice during this time period. In 1990, Rob Quest met and befriended Devin The Dude at a TSU kids jam contest hosted by Kurtis Blow, with King Tee in the audience in 1989. The two eventually came to the attention of Rap A Lot records, where their group The Odd Squad got a record deal in 1991.The cd Fadenuffaeverybody was released in 1994 to critical and rave reviews. At one point Dr. Dre of NWA, Snoop Dogg fame made a comment that it was one of the dopest cds he had heard from the Houston area during that time period.Since that time Rob Quest has been featured on a number Devin the Dude songs from each of solo cds, he's a part of the Coughee Brothers which is an off shoot of The Odd Squad that features Devin The Dude and Jug Mug.Rob has traveled around the world performing in major cities like LA, New York, Chicago, Philly, Seattle, Atlanta and other hot spots in America.
He plans on performing in Miami Florida one day soon.
