We write music , play instruments, and Live Life!

About Me

Steve and I have been friends for a long time. We always had a special connection when it came to writing music. At the age of 16/17 we formed a band by the name of Apathy. That was back in 88-94 . Members of that group consited of Me on drums, Steve on guitar, Boise on bass ( now playing with GAtRot) and a few singers and lead guitar players. Even Steve had the roll of the lead singer at one point. Never the less we learned alot and grew as musicians. After our break-up of Apathy, we did not jam together for along time( Steve and I ). We all ended up with girlfriends and kids and jobs. Life was in full effect with all it's ups and downs. Steve lost his girlfriend who he had his son with and it pretty much almost killed the will to do anything at all, let alone music. It still is very hard for him of course, the pain just does'nt go away and yet still found the strength to rise above it all and write some of the best music to ever cross our souls. So one day I saw his mom somewhere and asked how Steve was doing, and she said " nothing, just sitting at home" so I asked for his .. and it was the same as it always was, and called him up and said, Do you want together and jam? I'm bored out of my mind writing on my own. He said I have some ideas to, Yeah let's jam!. So we got together in 2000 and started working on some stuff and recruited Bassist Rob Rojas. Then I ran into a old ex vocalist friend Bob Herrera and asked to try out. We ended up writing ten great songs that we recorded and released as Ritual of a lost soul album. things started to change after that and we ended up losing Bob and Rob which left us back to -square 0 . It was hard to rise up from that fall. Little by little we started to audition bassplayers and vocalist and came up with a singer by the name of SEAN MICHAEL RIENS( who now jams with Psychotic nerve). This guy is one of the most unique personality i've ever met. the coolest friend indeed. We worked together for around 8 months and things didn't surface as we wanted so we continued our search. We put a add in the tucson musicians and recieved a call from a DENNIS BRACK. This cat came out to audition and was hired on the spot. We immedietly felt a bond with this guy. His voice was strong and his drive to be a front man was overwhelming, very important to have! Rob continued to work with us off and on due to his busy school schedule, he was'nt able to fully commit. He really helped us thru alot. Finally we came across a old friend of mine who we shared our first show together in 6th grade at a talent show, who just happen to play a mean bass!. FRANKIE VERDUGO already had a project of ten years under him and was ready to explore new musical avenues. His band that goes by the name of ONADI, have been in the music scene for a while and have some pretty impressive music to show for it. I approched him to help us out with some upcoming gigs and ( finally) he said yeah. Still active with his own project, he will be laying bass tracks on our second cd that will soon hit the metal minds of AZ soon. and That's how we've become the band called HEADRUST!( in very few words) check on the latest on our websight www.headrust.com Band Bio In a modern time when modern music is comprised of sampling, electronics and imagery, One would not expect anything new or innovative Till Now Headrust is A group of four friends with instrumentation that consist of Drums,, Bass, Guitar, and, vocals. With these being the fundamentals of many bands, there is something to say about raw charisma This is what Headrust brings to the listener. With heavy, solid and yet complex drumming, this band holds onto the metal sound of bands that influenced them such as Metallica, Rush, ac/dc, Led Zeppelin and Pantera.Along with that, the need for an equally heavy, precise and metal bass sound was of the essence.Headrust puts an emphasis on this element so that to allow the guitar sound & mood control the feel of the music Which one could compare too many professional rock bands. Of course Headrust has one key element to add to this ensemble which is what separates them from other metal bands, Melodisisom. The vocal texture and chosen melody distinguish Headrust in a way that is both unexpected and refreshing. The sound that Headrust projects is powerful, colorful and palatable, in a way that whats old is new And whats new is Headrust.Keepin it real, GEORGE SAMANIEGO
