The Agent of Fun

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a citizen of the universe, first and foremost. Whatever "the universe" comprises, call me an active part of it. Life and living are what it's all about and that's what we should be doing; living life. I'm a philosopher, a poet, a healer, an occasionally straight-edge bohemian and a tireless agitator against the Oppressors. I believe that the true spirit of aloha can conquer any problem. Although my family is spread all over the place, they are important to me. I play guitar, bass and drums and will make art out of nearly anything. I'm idealistic and iconoclastic, but still kicking it around within this wretched capitalist system. I love meeting new people, and can never get over this brave new online world. It's totally changed everything! I read every night, it helps me fall asleep.
I recently returned from my first European sojourn. It was very cool and if you go, I highly recommend making a stop in Amsterdam.

I'd like to meet:

God. I have a ton of questions for him/her/it. I would also like to meet the so-called son of God, Jesus. For some reason I don't think he would be too happy about all the mean, judgmental and hypocritical people who call themselves "christians". But it's not really his fault, is it? I would like to meet the Rat Pack, in say, 1962, and hang with them for a few weeks. That would be way cool. Galileo. King Arthur. Sidhartha. John Lennon. Most of the people I want to meet are dead.In the realm of living people, I would like to meet Janeane Garofalo.

Music:

My favorite band of all time is The Beatles. In no particular order after that; The Pogues (where no murdered ghosts can haunt me) Camper Van Beethoven, Dead Kennedys, Pink Floyd, The Pixies, The Fluid. Husker Du. The Replacements. Violent Femmes. Poi Dog Pondering. Indigo Girls. The Pretenders, The Smiths, The Breeders, Smashing Pumpkins, Echo and The Bunnymen.....Screamin' Jay Hawkins...now there's a performer! Red Meat, Bongwater, The Donner Party, The Furies. The Stones, The Kinks. Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, Martin Denny, Reverend Horton Heat, Southern Culture on the Skids, American Music Club, The Catheads, The B-52s, Dee-lite, Talking Heads, The Mops from Japan and then there's Buck Naked and The Bare-Bottom Boys. X from LA. The Doors, of course. The Who, Led Zeppelin...can't forget Iggy Pop! How about those good ol' Butthole Surfers, or Nirvana, or Foo Fighters...? The Slickee Boys. Primus...Bob Dylan in the way-back-when, Simon and Garfunkel....did I mention Black Flag? Well, there, I mentioned them. Sex Pistols. Flipper. Peter and The Test-Tube Babies. FEAR, although I think Lee Ving is a danger to himself and society at large...Oh, shit, of course THE CLASH!...Devo....and life just wouldn't be worth living without The Ramones...have you ever heard of Monochrome Set? They're loads of fun...XTC are simply great. About 12 years ago I was just blown away by My Bloody Valentine. I'm madly in love with Harriet Wheeler from The Sundays. What a voice *sigh*Frank and Dean...Madness...Oingo Boingo were unstoppable in their heyday! Velvet Underground...and whoever the first cavemen (and women) were to bang on stretched skins and blow through hollow sticks and bones...I betcha those folks were AWESOME...There's a bunch of dead musicians I'd like to pay tribute to; from classical greats like Mozart and Beethoven to trailblazers like Hendrix...now, back to living icons: Neil Young is definitely an all-time great...King Missile deserves a mention...and thanks to Cher Hole, I remembered The Cramps...oh, I like The Police too. The Vapors. The list will enlarge as more faves come to mind...I've really been into lounge music for about 10 years now.

Movies:

Blade Runner and most sci-fi movies; The 5th Element was pretty good, as was Minority Report. Chocolat, Where The Buffalo Roam with Bill Murray playing Hunter S. Thompson was simply EPIC! MURDERBALL...talk about emotional. Groundhog's Day, Animal House, Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Young Frankenstein, Austin Powers - all great comedies. Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Brazil by Terry Gilliam, as are all his movies, was just brilliant. The 40-yr. Old Virgin was hilarious. I love some of the old Disney cartoons, like Pinocchio and Jungle Book. Slacker by Richard Linklater - so f**king good because so many of us lived it. The Matrix. Big Fish. The Beavis and Butthead movie was hilarious! Oh, I almost forgot; I LOVE The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I first saw it when I was like twelve years old and it REALLY opened my eyes to being different.Robert DeNiro as Archibald Tuttle, the renegade air-conditioning repairman in "Brazil"Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Television:

I just swore off television but when I watched it, I liked...you guessed it, Star Trek, Stargate SG1, and educational channels like the Discovery Channel...

Books:

Mostly fiction and science fiction especially. I have read alot of Charles Dickens' books; he's my favorite author. I recently read "The 5 People You Meet in Heaven" which was very good. Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" is simply amazing. Oh yeah, and I just PLOWED through all the Harry Potter books... ANOTHER Proud Liberal

Heroes:

Those who fight for fairness, equality and opportunity for all. People like Rosa Parks who won't move to the back of the bus.
Those who stand up to racism, sexism and elitism.
Those who defend children and animals.
