LOS COBRA

SMELLS LIKE ELECTRICITY

About Me

I think it's fair to say I was moderately naive when I wrote my first editorial about Los Cobra in December. Back then, I didn't fully realize the extent to how hard they rock a stage. I also didn't realize "that one guy that thrashes around like he's on fire" is a Los Cobra regular. It wasn't until this last show that I became one of thier minions, too. Oh yeah, I was mentally thrashing harder than the "guy on fire" could ever dream of. If you want to experience Los Cobra, sitting down and chilling out with a beer is just not an option. You're in it with them. For me, that meant crawling on the floor and standing on bar stools in order to keep up with them and get shots that worked with the way that they were moving. If people weren't moving, they were definitely wanting to. I wonder what sort of restraint they must have in order to remain dormant. They must've been popping on the inside. They won't make it through the next show; I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they'll find themselves up there with the Los Cobra Regular, wondering what's possessed them. Christopher had warned us all that "This would mean trouble" a couple of times, but fearlessly (ignorantly?) I got as close as possible to them in order to get the shots. I didn't realize until I walked out of The Radio Cafe, into a shockingly peaceful outside environment, away from all the chaos I'd just experienced, that my ears were humming. The next morning, the humming hadn't left me. My first thoughts upon waking were "Dag, that was a stellar show," followed by "Dude, what's up with my ears?!" (They're fine now, by the way). Then I jumped up and proclaimed to my boyfriend triumphantly "Los Cobra kick your ass, Los Cobra kick your face, Los Cobra kick your balls into outer spaaaaaaaaaaaaace!" and looked at him and said "That's it! They got their name from Short Circuit!" He furrowed his eyebrows and said in his confused "wtf, it's 6:30 am" tone of voice "No, Tanya. That's Los Lobos."Point being: Go to just a couple of their shows and Los Cobra will own you. Accept it before it destroys you.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
