Finding the new genre of music by participating in it, contributing to it, and making it beautiful in every way I can. Oh, and hitting shopping carts with my Leopard print painted Datsun for sport. Ok, ok, I confess. I wanna be in Pigface! I so do! My turn! My turn! My turn! Oh, come on, everyone else gets to be! I'm considering holding up a cardboard sign that says, "Will tour for Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches" Hell, I'd do it for Jamba Juice not to mention just for the sake of getting to tour the country and do good music. That's the dream...
I like to meet people who can take care of themselves and choose to be around me because we inspire one and other to do more of what we do best. I need the people I surround myself with to be able to wipe their own asses and be self sufficient. I love meeting all other kinds of artists, especially other musicians, music lovers, music snobs, and generally sparkly folk. Oh, and I admire people who can draw or paint well because I certainly can't! I prefer to do productive things with my friends so we don’t feel guilty after hanging out together. Why waste money on stupid shit that you are only paying for to have something to do together? Why not just get your crap done together to make it suck less for both of you while you both have each other's company to motivate each other? Life is short and everyone keeps getting busier and busier, so, I try to be practical with my time these days. God I’m boring.
I no longer can play the violin the way I used to be able to due to a serious injury that severed my tendons in my fingering hand and arm, but, I can still:Play lots of things now besides just singing. I can still play:*the slide whistle (as like in Dee-Lite's "Groove is in the Heart")*the skin flute (Hey, who doesn't? especially your mom I hear blows a mean skin flute, for 5 bucks)*the bass (I have a 4 string and 5 string that I play poorly)*the cello (this is relatively new to me but I have one none the less because it'd physically possible and comfortable to play)*the noisemaker (as in the toy from such holidays as New Years Eve and Marti Gras)*bubble wrap (orally if possible)However I have not mastered the Kazoo, the Jug, the Mouth-harp, or the game Centipede. It's also better for all mankind if I don't use guitars especially plugged in to amplifiers. Trust me.
Footloose is my current favorite, YES!!! Clerks, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Tombstone, Labyrinth, Scarface, Chicago, Breakfast Club, Poltergeist, The Sixth Sense. The ones I'm going to make with my new camcorder.
I try not to, but when I do I watch VH1 Classic and The Simpsons, but I try to keep me out and about, at least just off my ass, hopefully practicing or at least writing music. Old music videos, especially the cheesy ones, are pretty addictive though.
Short ones with BIG pretty pictures are preferred. Astrology, medical reference, thesaurus, and a fucking dictionary. That's all I need. Life is short. Go out and live. I take it back. The American Dictionary of Slang is mother phucking majestic! Oh what a treat for the whole family!
Globally: David Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux, Martin Atkins, and Tina Turner. Locally: David King, Shawni and X, Athena, most of my friends. I think people who can draw or paint are cool because I can’t, well, I shouldn’t anyway! Ha!. I look up to any musicians, dancers, entertainers, or artists who are simply out there doing it, not just idealizing about it. If we don't try, why live? I could learn from Sebastian to live life to the fullest while we still can.
