I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I live in Philly. I make films. I am totally addicted to caffeine. I get my best work done between 10:00pm and 4:00am. I'll watch any movie at least once, provided it has no Rob Schneider or Adam Sandler in it. I quote Simpsons and Mystery Science Theater episodes to anyone within earshot, and if nobody's around, I amuse myself with them instead in my own brain. I'm constantly amazed at the stupidity of the average American. I own or co-own three film-related companies, all of which are intended to save us all from having to watch any more prequels, remakes, prequels to remakes, or sequels to movies based on rides or toys.Check 'em out: Cinevore Studios , The Project Twenty1 Film Festival , and Crystalline Studios .

My Interests

movies, writing, music nobody else likes (see below), reading, using the sweet sweet internet, and the occasional video game, though I don't get as much chance to spend at those last ones as I'd like these days.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody funny, upbeat, intelligent, outgoing, and/or interesting. Also, anybody who for some reason wants to see bizarre original films like comedic westerns about armless surgeons who operate with their feet, romances between the Wolf and Red Riding Hood, or film noirs about game reviewers turned detectives, 'cause I made those. And of course, anybody who knows what my headline is from.

Music:

Pretty much everything except some (most) country and rap. Favorites include: Garbage, Bon Jovi, Boston, U2, New Order, Delerium, Moby, INXS, The Black Eyed Peas, Tantric, A3, The Sounds, The Offspring, The Killers, Outkast, The Dropkick Murphys, Dire Straits, No Doubt, Conjure One, Linkin Park, The Rolling Stones, Chumbawamba, Def Leppard, and 90's dance music, even if that last one evidently makes me gay.

Movies:

Dark City, Sixth Sense, The Matrix, Spaceballs, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, Coen Brothers movies, David Fincher movies, Independence Day, Bond movies, Donnie Darko, Alien, Aliens, Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth, The Prestige, Right At Your Door... other post-apocalypse and dystopia movies. Looking forward to I Am Legend and J. J. Abrahms' newest entry in the "creepy hidden monster" series.

Television:

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is the best show ever. runners up: Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, The Critic, Duckman, Space Ghost, Seinfeld, Firefly, X-Files (early seasons), Harsh Realm, Deadwood, Weeds, Extras, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Lost. That's right, I'm going down with the ship with Lost.

Books:

William Gibson - Neuromancer and others; 1984; Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Chuck Palahniuk books; books by old-school sci-fiers like Alfred Bester, Samuel Delany, Larry Niven.

Heroes:

Anyone who stops bitching about the unfairness of the system, and instead figures out ways to use the system to their advantage. And then (and this is the important part), shares those ways with me. Anybody? Ways?
