"From South Bronx to East Berlin"

About Me

April 2008 WOW---imagine getting that DEJA-VU feeling like having written all these stuff and thinking that it's up and then visiting your page and---WHA!?---having to write all that AGAIN!! Well, I tell you, this kinda shit DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH TYPEWRITERS!! Abut time I come here and do some personal involvement. I was never one for sales pitches or catchy slogans and would rather just blather all over the page, just like the old days...Old days??? I want to thank everybody who's been connecting with me through this page. I can't believe how many people drop by to say hi and relive a moment. It touches me no end to know that what this little band did in some sweaty basement somewhere affected people out there. It really means a lot to me. I'm pretty sure that would make all the other members of URGENT FURY feel really good. I mean, I imagine...I guess that says pretty clear I'm not really in touch with anyone!! ("How ya doin, dudes?") I plan to set up little bios for everyone that passed through here as soon as I dig up all the pertinent facts. (insert ominous music here.) I always felt like we were the SPINAL TAP of NY HARDCORE what with all the phases we had to pass thru before we worked our way up to Tim Yohannon calling saying we were something like "THE CIRCLE JERKS MEET JIMI HENDRIX." Okay yeah THAT WAS OUR NEXT-TO-LAST phase leading to a 10 minute version of "Line Of Sight" which I've just digitizedphase before we "jumped back to basics" and back to kurt & sweet with "America Has Been Swallowed," "Wage Slave" and "Funeral Pyre." Okay well two out of three ain't bad, since once you start playing that 'My Cuntry 'Tis Of Thee' riff you can't stop...DID I SAY 10?? The 10"---thanks so much to everyone who's been asking about buying a copy. I've even gotten back to some of you! but for the few that I haven't, sorry. It's just the first time someone asked me about paying for a copy I went into shock. Lasted three days. Sorta like Stalin when he "found out." There's still something that rankles about taking money for this stuff, a totally new thing for this band...BUT NEVERMIND, I'm over it GIVE ME YOUR MONEY. (There. I'm supposed to say that because. I'd send them all out for nothing if it wasn't for people here that hold me down, tie me up, force me down wriggling...WELL OKAY that's enough then I'll work on the PAYPAL thing for yall and come up with a fair price and...will you turn out those lights? The CDIt's been great to get in touch with and discover so many great record labels out there!! I'll even mention some of my favorites next time, but in so far as the URGENT FURY CD goes...CURSES! FOILED AGAIN! or some such thing, just haven't been able to nail it down. There are a great deal of "rarities", demos, live tapes from WNYU, WFMU, TIN PAN ALLEY, THE DIRT CLUB, a lot of it actually listenable! I'm working on digitizing some and I'll probably put some here for ya. I'll even make it downloadable sometimes when the moon is in your anus...eh, Uranus...speaking of witchNEW IN THE BOX: A demo version of a song I made back in 1991 called "Walking Mace." The band overall reacted favorably to this track, but we never got to do it, unlike other songs from this tape, and live versions of UF performing "America Has Been swallowed", "Wage Slave", and "Funeral Pyre" do exist. We've even done a song called "On My Street" but I like my demo version better, why don't I just take them home and slap on some bass? "Walking Mace" has no bass. That's not HARRY VIDERCI knocking himself out on drums, it's a drum machine cranked up to the max!FINALLY just 2 things: First, the music I'm doing now is called ROPE BURNS!! Click that box in the friends area and go there to hear my latest. I spent the first 3 months of this year recording. 19 new songs, 10 of them on my latest demo CD, "Self-Induced". This is a home-made CD I pass out to anyone that comes with 20 yards of me(I have devised a special sling that enables me to hurl them swiftly and for a great distance). Actually I'm very shy about it, friends have to be quite bothersome about it. Putting the music out on MYSPACE is really a kind of therapy for me forcing me to get out of myself a little and not be so INWARDS. WAITAMINNIT REWRITE THAT!Lastly but beastly I gotta mention my new novel, SOUTH BY SOUTH BRONX
