About Me

Brad De Lisio used to have dreams of apocalyptic events. Fire – nuclear bombs – the end of the World. Now as DJ Apocalypse, he is on a mission to live life at its fullest doing what he loves most – DJing and making music for the masses. Influenced early on from the destructive sounds of Ozzy Osbourne, The Misfits, Slayer, Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, to even the lighter side of Depeche Mode, New Order, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Joy Division, this naturally led Apocalypse’s curiosity towards the industrial club scene. As a teenager, he would frequent the rave and underground parties along with the legendary parties at Medusa’s in Chicago. No doubt growing up in Chicago he was also fortunately exposed to the everyday sounds of classic house music broadcasted on the radio airwaves of WBMX (hot mix 5) which was inspiration enough for any young person interested in electronic music. It wasn’t until the mid 1990’s when he began throwing his own underground house parties. He then began to take the matter into his own hands with a thirst for the feeling a DJ must have to control and read a screaming crowd while anticipating what they want next. For the past eight years, DJ Apocalypse has been tearing up the electronic scene with his own fusion of sounds, not limited to any style or genre, but with a commanding control of 3 decks that keeps crowds screaming for more. With his ambitious drive and unique sound, Apocalypse has accomplished a great deal in a short period of time, not only musically, but also in his contributions to furthering the electronic community. This includes everything from event production to promoting and and giving local up and comers the break they've always wanted. In 2000, he established Prophecy Productions. Soon after, DJ Apocalypse partnered with friends and Chicago Legends Green Velvet and DJ Traxx to launch the weekly "La La Land". Establishing his foothold on the Chicago scene, it gave him the opportunity to perform with the likes of The Advent, Space DJ'z, Mark Verbos, DJ Rush, and Gaetano Parisio. After a successful run, he moved on to become a resident at Crobar Chicago, where he dominated the Mezzanine. In 2001, Fostex America took notice of this driving talent and sponsored Apocalypse to represent their products at industry conventions (including National Association of Music Makers and DJ Times Magazine) thru live DJ mixer demonstrations. Back at his hometown, Apocalypse became bi-weekly resident alternating with Green Velvet on Sonic Boom Q101, the Saturday night radio show on Chicago’s main alternative music station with a listening base of over 70,000. Without a doubt, DJ Apocalypse is on an unstoppable mission to play his music and have it be heard.Never missing an opportunity to travel to play for new crowds, Apocalypse has extended his sound fusions to events and festivals worldwide. Apocalypse began traveling to Europe and landed a short set in the V.I.P. tent at the Awakenings Festival in Amsterdam 2003. In December 2004, Bohemian Music introduced Apocalypse at various clubs and underground parties in Czech Republic, where he was greeted with sold out crowds and enthusiastic party goers. During his month stay, he was invited by the Prague (University) radio station to play a 2 hour live set along with an in depth interview. With full determination to play at other countries, Apocalypse booked himself to headline a a successful New Year's Eve Party for thousands of people in Sofia, Bulgaria. Just ten months after his Winter Tour, Apocalypse was asked to return once again to Czech Republic to play for the people that loved his energy and style of music.Always rising to the occasion to rock the main room, his most memorable moments include sharing the decks for the sold-out performances of Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath’s Cocoon tour, a sold-out Paul Van Dyke performance, and several mini tours of the eastern block of Europe. As he continues his growing DJ career, he has also taken a step towards breaking into the production world, and is presently working on many solo projects to be released in the near future. Glancing over your shoulder you may catch a glimpse of this shadow from behind, and with a blink of an eye, you will see that this light has raged full-force ahead.
