Former Los Angeles Radio Personality Protests War and Writes Musical with Xavier Calvera

About Me

My name is Sue McRoberts.
I've worked as a news reporter on KFWB Radio and as a staff reporter for the Whittier Daily News. Right now, I'm collaborating with Xavier Calvera on a pair of musicials. Our first work, "The Orishas Are Coming!" is currently in development n Hollywood. You can learn more about this project at www.theorishasarecoming.com.
I'm also an active member of the Whittier Area Peace and Justice Coalition who attends as many anti-war rallies and protests as possible!

Xavi and I have a band and are also writing a Christmas musical together... We'll let you know what happens what that one is finished. Hear Xavi's music on his MySpace page or listen to several songs at www.numberonemusic.com/xavi. Our group is called "Xavi & the Tiger."

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who love the melodic, harmony-filled music of the late 60s and early 70s. They will like the music of "Xavi & the Tiger." I'd also like to meet people who like musicals because Xavi and I have two of them! Also looking forward to meeting other peace-loving people willing to work to end this ill-begotten War in Iraq.

Music:

Favorite artists include Xavi Calvera and John Denver. I like several kinds of music: classic rock, country and, of course, folk music!

Television:

Boston Legal is hysterical. I love Law and Order shows.

Books:

I'm reading a series of James Michener books: Space, Alaska, Poland, Mexico. Good stuff. My favorite author is Anne Rule, who writes true crime stories. I'm planning to write a couple myself, based on some of the unbelieveable court cases I've covered.

Never say "Never Again!"

"What Are We Making Weapons For?" John Denver asked in the early 1970s, shortly after I was tear-gassed on 13th Street in Boulder, Colorado during an anti-Vietnam War demonstration. JD would have bee...
