The Cosmic Vortex of Doom

Join the cult!Doom on brothers and sisters!!!!

About Me

The cosmic vortex of doom are a bunch of filthy stinking, bean-flicking, whisky drinking, hard rocking, stoned, bad-ass stoner/doom/metal bastards.
We are influenced by the sounds of Iron Monkey, Cathedral, Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard as well as various power metal and prog bands.
We have recently recorded a new four track ep with the lovely chaps of www.mootgroup.com, the result sounds fucking huge!
The vortex are on a mission to purify your soul, add us! join the cult!
"Shimmering layers of post sabbath stoner riffology over a doom backline"
"Sounds like a stripped down Cathedral with a groove custom made to smoke weed to!"
(Metal Hammer)
"The Cosmic Vortex of Doom are a sludge four-piece from darkest Leicestershire who deal in stripped down, yet fully raging stuff in the vein of Iron Monkey and Black Sabbath, but have their own unique character by having psychedelic passages thrown into the mix, sounding very much like Cathedral or bands with a forest-dwelling, dopesmoking fixation"
"Final track and most ridiculously titled 'The Magical Carpet of Mystical Hypnosis' is an 8-minute stormer that again follows a definate sludge/stoner path, but has its own character bubbling under, one of dare I say it? Classic rock? If this song was an entrance into a room, it would be decadent and confident"
"Imagine the old interludes like 'Embryo' and songs like 'Planet Caravan' and you get a good idea - fantastic"
(Mike @ www.ninehertz.co.uk)
"It's like some massive troll like demon came out of the ground in a forest holding a giant hammer with metal bits and said 'LO HUMANS, BEHOLD.' and gave mankind a record made only from boiling lead extracted from the sweat of the damned in hell, and that disk was the new CVOD EP."
