Turntable Tomfoolery

About Me

DJ for now-defunct Cornish Hip Hop outfit Freight Corp, and one quarter of Brighton-based turntable crew Beat Cleavers.
Started out DJing in Falmouth, Cornwall, organising and contributing to nights such as El Segundo and Dirty Decibels alongside fellow regulars Freight Corp, DJ Ideal (Unemployed Superheroes), Hines, Enlish & Clev Cleverley (Imagineers), DJ Dren (33 Throwdown) and more. Finalist in DMC Bristol in 2000 and 2002 under the name Xkalibur, but soon gave up on the competition scene after gaining a loopstaton and got into developing layered turntable composition pieces. Released the Freight Corp 12", "A in A / Harmonize" on Zebra Traffic Records in 2003, but disbanded shortly afterwards as the three of us were now living in different parts of the country.
Moved to Brighton in 2005 and formed Beat Cleavers with fellow skratch butchers Herbie Dragons (Ramblers Association), DJ Jus and Bluey Craft.Currently delving into production and developing the loopstation stuff, so a solo project shouldn't be far off(!), and working on material with the Cleavers (keep your eyes on the Beat Cleavers page for more info!), and human beatbox extraordinaire Koobs.
Look out for "A in A / Hamonize" by Freight Corp, out now on Zebra Traffic, and the forthcoming "Tether EP" by Koobs feat. Blu Rum 13, Aina, DJ Jus and Dolecheque, out soon on Elephant.
