- my name is marko and i'm trying to be a musician:) i play electric and acoustic guitar and alto saxophone - as well as some percussion, making noise and playing with electronics. for the guitar i took some lessons as a kid, while as far as the saxophone is concerned i'm freshly self-taught for now:) ******- i currently play and lead a project named 'SINAI - the music of John Zorn' where me and a couple of colleagues, learning musicians, play mainly the music John Zorn wrote for his MASADA project of radical jewish music. ******- however, i am trying to start some projects (collaboration, band or whatever...) with my music. i have a bunch of material ready - ranging from simple improvisational ideas to more written out melodies, themes and arrangements. as you can see in the title - i am looking for musicians. there are a lot of ideas - for example an acoustic ensemble with acoustic guitar, sax, drums, maybe a cello? or a drummer to experiment some free improvisation (which is one of my great interests)? maybe a noise maker, live electronics...? if you like some of the stuff on this page and have some ideas - please let me know. ******- also interested in inter-disciplinary art projects and have done some of them already - like instant improvisation to read poetry (sax and my friend jure playing drums), or an instalation with textile paintings and improvised music - you can see a video of that below. open to suggestions - would like to collaborate with dance performances, music for films... ******- there will be more material uploaded in the future. ******- currently listening:John Coltrane - Ascension, Stellar Regions, Olatunji Concert; John Zorn - Azazel Masada Book of Angels vol.2, 50th birthday celebration with Milford Graves, Masada Beit, Naked City - Leng T'che, Absinthe; La Quiete - La fine non e' la fine; Envy - Insomniac Doze; Zu - Identification With The Enemy - A Key To The Underworld (with Nobukazu Takemura); Paul Flaherty - The Beloved Music; Kudsi Erguner - Sufi music of turkey; Satlah - Live At Tonic; Explosions in the Sky - The earth is not a cold dead place; Supersilent - 7; Cheval De Frise - Frescoes sur les parois secretes du craine; Peter Brotzmann/Rashied Ali/Fred Hopkins - Songlines; Opeth - Damnation, Still Life; Isis - Panopticon; Godspeed You! Here is a video excerpt (the sound is cut-up) of an inter-disciplinary performance done with my friends jure playing drums and manca, who is an artist/painter/textile designer, providing the images printed on textile. ******some info: Interdisciplinary project of the German artist Wasa Marjanov; cube of 3mx3m where u can make ur own show; place in a place; our contribution is a textile installation of paintings with a direct music improvisation (sax and drums); the whole duration was of 40 minutes ******
