Without an end, there would not be any beginning…and in this case the thing started after breaking down of the previous band Suisound, whose members were: Morato – vocals, Matja-- – bass, Soczka-Mandac – guitar & and Jure – drums. After three years of activity several great concerts, 2 recorded demos and 1 studio recorded track, the vocalist left. That was crucial, so the band split up. A dilemma of whether or not to continue arose consequently. After a good reflection about a potential new singer and/or instrumentalist, we decided to continue as a trio. We were in a great musical condition, close and on the similar frequency, so this was the most natural way. We decided to work on music with equal input of any member and adopted the name Meduzalem. The name came out during one of the numerous improvisational sessions. The idea of Rocco was to collect two old songs and a new one in the shape of a conceptual work. Before that we were selected among others and given the opportunity to record in studio Hendrix of the regional radio Koper/Capodistria, while still in the Suisound formation. We managed to get ready for it in the summer of 2005 after the split. We recorded the basic instrumental parts (guitar, bass, drums) under the watchful surveillance of Drago Hrvatin and Ksenija Kos. The recordings were meant to be finalized later in the home studio Eden of a friend of ours – Jan Baruca. Soon after, came the invitation by the radio editor Armando --turman of doing a concert in --kofije, near Koper. Later that year in autumn, we did a cover version on the initiative of a friend Nejc --tukl, who did the vocals with a second guitarist and friend Dejan (from Mosaic). It all happened in the Auditorium Portorose…From that point, the band had no other live show and concentrated on the new ideas. Ideas, which were recorded somehow with a radio transistor just to keep the basic material. Then came the moving to a new rehearsal place and there we reached a somewhat dead-end. The whole creative atmosphere had vanished. We decided to take a pause for an undetermined period and each concentrated on his own projects. After long silence, the recordings were finished at Jan's studio, where Soczka-Mandac recorded some additional guitar overdubs, solos, effects and of course: vocals with all the hard work, ups and downs, with all sounds experiments and improving vocal technique, the work regained its final shape and freshness in the form of »Dead Soul Poetry«. It was a big relief and satisfaction was thrice…and the future remains….and the path…??
