Want your DJ mix posted on this page? E-mail the group! Please submit your DJ name, name of your mix, style of your mix, contact info, link to your mix (I cannot host it for you), as well as a link to a picture you'd like to use (if you want to use one. You don't have to have one) Please allow 24 - 48 hours for your mix to be posted. I'm a busy girl and will do it as fast as I can!
I also am not on line much on the weekends. So if you submit your info to me Thur nite - Sun, it will probably take longer than usual to be posted.
GET YOUR MIXES POSTED ON LINE!
OK, so I've had several e-mails asking me about this so I'm just going to post it to save myself and everyone else time...
1) Alrighty.... First off, you need to get those mixes of yours on your computer. Go to www.downlaod.com and get Music Match Jukebox. The basic version is free and it will allow you to rip CDs into your hard drive. This is what I use for my stuff and it (usually) works great. For posting purposes, you will want to rip your files in MP3 format. WAV is higher in quality, but the file size is way too large to be hosted.
If your mixes are on cassette tapes, e-mail me. You will have to take a different & more of a pain in the ass route.
2) Now, for those of you that already have your mixes in your computer, are they WAV or MP3 format? If they are WAV you will need to convert them to MP3. Music Match Jukebox has a feature called "convert." (File Convert... the rest is self explanitory.)
3) Next, after you have your files as MP3 files, you will need to get them on-line to a "host." (A host is a server that will hold your mixes on line for downloads and streams) I know of a few sites that can do it....
GlobalBeatz.net
The Underground Network
Demostreams.com
www.ipowerweb.com
I've never been to demostreams, it was passed on to me from another friend. (I have my own server / web site that my mixes are on) Globalbeatz is a place you can submit links to hosted mixes and they can host mixes for people like you. unnet is actually based here in CO, but it's HUGE. You have to pay for them to host your mixes (unless you know HTML. There's a link to my unnet profile on my personal myspace page and you can see what I'm talking about). Otherwise unnet is free. You will need to upload your music to at least one of these sites. Once you get the URL (URL is the web address to your mix) from them (after it's uploaded) you can post anywhere that accepts html or any other site that allows you to submit links to your mix URL.
4) To post on myspace (this is also the way you will post to any other site that accepts HTML) you do this.
To make this viewable on this profile, I had to change the 's in the HTML code to [ & ]'s. When you post on your own, you will have to use the carots, .
[a href="PASTE YOUR URL HERE"] name of your mix, etc here [/a]
If you would like to make your link to your mix a picture (like the album cover or your own art, etc...) Instead of typing in the name, place the HTML code to your image where the text would go.
For example:
[a href="PASTE YOUR URL HERE"] [img src="PASTE YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"][/a]
***MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE THE QUOTATION MARKS IN! THEY ARE PART OF THE HTML CODE!***
Alright, I think that will get you all started. If later on I realize I forgot anything I'll add it and if you have questions, e mail me.
GOOD LUCK!
I hope that all made sense. If you have any questions hit me up!

If you think a turntable diva is missing from this list, please contact the group! They must be one of the "big" & nationally recognized. Maad props to all of us that are famous in our own states, but the above pics are saved for those that EVERYBODY knows. *wink*
