About Me

I finally broke-down and started a MySpace page, but like most of my projects, it's going to take alot of thought and time to develop. It will be a work-in-progress.

I love to travel, and am a geography nerd. I always get the Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit geography questions right!

Politically, I'm probably 75% Libertarian, but am not fanatical about it. (i.e. - I don't think that all taxation is evil - just most of it.) I'm also a conservationist and don't think all the national parks and wilderness areas going back to private ownership is a necessarily a good idea.

I'm Christian, but not religious.

Barnes & Noble is a "dangerous" place for me. Once in there, I'm likely not to leave, and definitely not without spending too much money!

My Interests

Music of all kinds, especially guitar; reading; travel; hiking; camping; surfing; kayaking; beachcombing; steam locomotives; wine grapes; just relaxing - tranquility, peacefulness, contemplation, periodic solitude.

I'd like to meet:

People who are smarter than me (not those who just THINK they are), who wouldn't mind sharing some of their knowledge.

Music:

The most important category!! Currently the favs are Irish/Celtic and smooth jazz, but I'm into just about everything, especially if it's interesting or a little "offbeat".

Movies:

I appreciate good films of all kinds, but try to stay away from downers and "death movies". Life can be tragic enough in its reality. I prefer movies that entertain, uplift the spirits, and/or convey timeless truths.

Television:

Watch it, but am very selective. I'm not really a couch tater.

Books:

of all kinds!! So many books - so little time!

Heroes:

Am not into hero-worship, but have great respect for many individuals. I prefer to appreciate peoples' insights, talents, personalities, gifts, while doing my best to accept and forgive their shortcomings. I would hope for the same.
