About Me

Yo, I'm John Suave, aka Johnny Suave, J. Suave or just Suave. I'm an emcee and producer from Thunder Bay, Ontario. My goal is simple: to keep improving my rhymes and production in the hopes that I can continue to make music without becoming stagnant. My brother Dystrakted does all of my cuts and also records the majority of my tracks for me.
Influenced by our local hip hop scene, I started writing rhymes in October of 2002. Because of Dystrakt, I knew a few of the emcees around at the time and they weren't so different from anybody else, so I figured: "if these people can do it, why can't I?". I wrote in solitude for a few months until I had something to be relatively proud of, which was recorded as a demo track that will likely never see the light of day, and after that I was addicted. I began spending most of my free time scribbling in a notebook or sitting on the computer writing. Now I'm just trying to expand my skillset as much as possible. I started freestyling and making beats in December 2004, and I'm trying (kinda) to teach myself how to beat-box.
Barring any delays or mishaps, my debut full length release, "Somehow has a Place" should be finished in 2008. This is subject to change though, as I still need to record most of it, and as of yet, I'm unsure how it's going to be released. I'd really like to get it professionally pressed if I have enough cash once I'm finished recording everything, but "who knows what tomorrow will bring?"

New (demo) track... FINALLY!

Well I was just going to wait out Dystrakted's technical issues, but I figured I may as well get some use out of my equipment and make some demos for the time being. I didn't think the sound was going...
