About Me

Sarah Pedinotti is a songwriter and musician from Saratoga Springs, NY. She has released three albums independently. In 2003 and 2005, Billboard Magazine editor Thom Duffy, who described Pedinotti as “a talented young singer/ songwriter on the rise”, respectively listed her albums “You Go To My Head” and “One Mirror” as top ten best new albums of the year.Pedinotti is one of seven in a family of artists. She began writing, singing and playing piano at an early age, influenced by an eclectic assortment of American and British musicians of the 1960s and 70s (including Dylan, Bowie, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks)In the summer of 1996, her parents opened One Caroline Street, a Jazz Bistro in Saratoga Springs, NY. Sarah began performing there when she was twelve, sitting in with the featured musicians. Over the years she has performed with many artists including members of The Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra: Marcus Printup, Eric Lewis and Ali Jackson. Lee Shaw—a former student of Oscar Peterson's—frequently played at the bistro and became Sarah's mentor.Pedinotti's writing is often described as eclectic. In a recent review of her latest album "City Bird" her music is compared to that of Bruce Springsteen, Jacque Brel, Dr. John and Tom Waits, the reviewer adds “her literate lyrics live in tunes that are more like mini-short stories than mere songs.” www.sarahpedinotti.comwww.billboard.com/bbcom/yearend/2005/t op10/staff_1.jsp
