I am an independent thinker, if it's okay with you

About Me

No, I'm not some pervert trying to pick up on you.
Like anyone, I could say there's too much about me to fit on this page. I'll just say that I'm probably a pretty normal person who considers myself unique.
I'm an independent filmmaker whose day job is working in an IT department. I've been creative all my life and learned to be technical over the last 10 years. I've maintained my creative driving forces of music and movies and seek to work on as many different types of projects as possible with a variety of individuals.

My Interests

Filmmaking, Music, Playing Music, Songwriting, Astronomy, Cartography, Learning, Teaching, Knowing

I'd like to meet:

Others interested in filmmaking in its various permutations, fellow musicians, IT guys (read: Other geeks), and just, really, people in general. We've all got our stories to tell; what's yours?

Music:

Hodgepodge , Better Than Ezra, Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, My Bloody Valentine, Joy Division, New Order, Dig, Darla Hood, Soul Asylum, Prince, Morris Day and The Time, Postal Service, Teenage Fanclub, Duran Duran, Belly, Lampsonite, and countless others.
The soundtrack to my life was originally comprised of the music contained within the Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda series. Oh, and Metroid.

Movies:

I watch so many movies that I'm close to putting Netflix out of business. Sadly, there are many movies I have never seen that are classics.
I gotta give it up for the Back to the Future series. Transformers the Movie will always live on in my fondest memories.

Television:

I watch little television with the exception of Psych. I am also a recovering Law and Order and CSI junkie.

Books:

I don't read nearly as many books as I used to, but I like to read books about things I know almost nothing about, for example, quantum physics, demented serial killers, and religion.

Heroes:

For now, Optimus Prime. Tune in later for more information.

Impending Move

A few people here are aware that I have plans to relocate away from Los Angeles. I'm doing my best to find a spot in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. There is no real set schedule but, for me, sooner wo...

Monday

Monday was the hardest day by far. It was the day I said farewell to my hometown and to most of my family. I woke up a lot later than I had anticipated and received a phone call from my oldest nei...

Sunday

Ah, the aftermath. My friend called around 10:30, saying that he and his family were headed to a nearby relative's house for about two hours. They were to meet me at my dad's and we'd go get groce...

Saturday

The reunion was not a trainwreck as I was mildly expecting it to be. It was very nice to see who got fat and who married a loser and all that stuff. It was also great to see that chick that I had th...

Whatever

We live in a whatever generation. Children are taught not to show passion about things. They are taught to remain stoic. Why is this? Is this so that we can have a society of drones? Is "the man"...

Friends

This is pretty funny. I've invited more male friends than female friends, but only one male friend has responded. Funny? No, sad. And misrepresenting. Anyway, that's life, I suppose.
