Tha Sharp Smack is a rap duo, founded by the DJ/producer Diamond Cutter and the MC AlerG Hequan in Zagreb,Croatia in autumn 2004. They are a "one MC one DJ" group, with the concept of a musicaly wide producer/DJ and a strong personality of the MC. The idea came from AlerG, who was in another group, and he felt he was ready to expand and make his solo work parallel with the group. AlerG hooked up with his high school friend Diamond Cutter and did a warfare track followed with gruesome lyrics and dark production.Since then,they decided they fit as a duo and eventualy AlerG left his old group. The duo doesnt promote their demo stuff as blind as the people do in Croatia. Tha Sharp Smack wont fuck with the bitters, to much harm could be done to their music and the lives of the fakers.
Diamond Cutter is a producer without an actual genre. He does rap beats primarly, but he slides beetween many styles of electronic music, including tech-house, drum'n'bass, psy-trance and more. Born on 14.01.1989. and was producing all sorts of music since he was 14. He's influences are Marley Marl, the mid-90's Pete Rock, and the first decade of work by DJ Premier. On top of that, he listens and enjoys the styles of J Dilla, Madlib and 9th Wonder. Diamond Cutter's beats cant be compared, but at the times he sounds like the early Dilla and Pete Rock but mostly its all about the mood swing. He loves hardcore beats so 9 times out of 10, He will scrape you wit his drums and bass lines. It's mostly some jazz, soul and funk flavour as He continues the real hip-hop legacy of all the legendary producers from the New-York golden era. Good thing about Diamond Cutter is that He still explores and gives the new shit every now and then. Even if He puts an electronic sample on an instrumental, it will always sound like some boom-bap master piece.AlerG Hequan is the MC higly addicted to rap music. As he listens over 15 records per week, His style is classic but he's voice and non-influenced delivery on the mic, makes Him new for the listeners. Born on 14.01.1989.,AlerG is dead serious with His lyrics, and is far from the funny wack storytellers on the TV in Croatia. He has a complexed personality and mostly is inspired by the noise behind his eyes. He is one of the rare Mc's to completly change his delivery from track to track. For now, there's about 4 or 5 styles he spreads on the mic, based on the mood of the beats and His lyrics. His biggest influence is Raekwon, and when He inhaled the Wu sound, He started writing rhymes and flowin' on Public Enemy instrumentals. That made Him permenantly build skills of old school MC's, and He had a problem when flowin' modern beats. At the age of 14. He almost quit rapping due to the problems of His flow, but His lyrics were ahead of the average so he knocked the hustle on the mic. Now, He owns the skills of an MC's MC and will try to bring back the old concept of rap to you and yours.
