NubianGraphics.comI'm an Afro-Latina native of New York state. I love diversity and will be returning to college very soon to become a sociologist. "Bohemian nerd" is an appropriate description.

I thoroughly enjoy reading, but due to a short attention span I stick to magazines and graphic novels. I'm all about some Nintendo, but I also love PS2. Anime and manga make me giddy. Body art, particularly tattoos and henna, fascinates me. Sociology, anthropology, and psychology will eternally hold my interest.
I have a tendency to terrorize idiots...you've been warned. Freethinkers, animal lovers, sobriety enthusiasts and hardcore nerds are my kindred. If you're friendly, we'll probably get along.

I do not watch television at home because I see no purpose in paying for cable tv packages that consist of 98% mind-numbing foolishness.
I love reading, yet I hardly finish books these days. Nonetheless, the writings of His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso the 14th Dalai Lama, Rebecca Walker, and Esmeralda Santiago are essential to my personal library. Other beloved authors on my bookshelves include Thich Nhat Hanh, Pam Munoz Ryan, James McBride, Andrea Levy, and Donna Jackson Nakazawa. There's some manga on the shelves, too. Chobits, Ai Yori Aoshi, and Unbalance Unbalance are my favorites.
My husband, for being exactly who is: the most wonderful person I know. My grandmother for teaching me what unconditional love is and continually illustrating what family truly means. My father for learning from his mistakes and being a strong presence despite those mistakes. Unselfish persons striving toward realistic goals that have a positive impact. This is Jaya. My husband drew her for me using colored pencil and an ink pen.
