I like reading different varieties of books, writing, enjoying the outdoors, and trying my best to make the world a better place, (lol). My quest for knowledge is almost never-ending.
In my free time I like learning to play different instruments and learn different styles of music. Music is very much like a language to me and it a never-ending cure to boredom. I can play guitar for hours sometimes! I am also learning banjo and piano. I love to use my fingerpicks and thumbpick! I also own a hammered dulcimer and look forward to learning some tunes on it. I pick and learn a lot from my b/f Michael, who is a great fiddle player as well as teacher. The fiddle has pretty much taught me everything I know about music.
As far as my musical interests they are very different. One day I might listen to Scott Joplin and the next a Moog Synthesizer on top of some black metal! I can also name most of the songs on the oldies channel (my favorite radio station!)
I'm a teacher by day, specializing in computer skills and job readiness for a very wide population of people. Being a teacher is a very hard but rewarding job. I am very lucky because I constantly learn myself from having different students! Everyone around us has a great story to tell, and I love hearing them. The inspiration is usually never ending.
I'm the type of person that usually always has to be engaged, involved, or doing something. I can hardly sit still!
