AS A MUSICIAN...
Rachel Perey studies classical flute with Esther Landau, and composition, theory, and improvisation with Belinda Reynolds. Her jazz education includes studies with John Calloway and Daniel Riera. She graduated from the Preparatory Division at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a member of the Honorary Distinction List receiving an Outstanding Achievement in Musicianship Award. She has performed at the Junior Bach Festival and in masterclasses taught by flutist Keith Underwood, harpsichordist Corey Jamason, and flutist Amelia Lukas. Rachel produced a Benefit Concert in association with nonprofit organization HeartBridge International Foundation to benefit the mudslide victims of the Philippines.
AS A MEDIA ARTIST...
Rachel Perey is a Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts major with internship experience from KCSM and from KBWB (YOUR TV20 Cable 13/Channel 20). She currently works for KCSM as an Assistant Producer and has won several production awards including the 2006 Outstanding Intern Award from the Bay Area Society for Television, Advertising and Radio, the 2007 screening at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival, and an Honorable Mention from the CCCSAT 2nd Annual Film and Video Festival. Rachel also traveled to Thailand to record elephants for The Great Elephant Poo Poo Paper Company Limited.
