My name is Whyteowle a.k.a. Wizzo a.k.a. "Da Unofficial Governor of Kentucky"
I started off as just another middle class kid in America with no idea what
I wanted to be... then I heard a rap tape from Biz Markie "Biz is Going Off"
and then Ice T's "Rhyme Pays" and for me that was it!! I started off as a writer,
writing my lil verses to everybodys beats that were out like EPMD, L.L. and many others.
Back in the day I messed with a couple of local crews, but later I realized I was gettin
jerked with the beats..see I thought I was buying beats that they made, but in reality
I was coppin beats that they were recording on tapes and "re-sellin", real "Fruadulent".
After this realization I started gettin my own records and later copped some turntables,
I used to DJ the highschool parties and house parties, after a hot minute I picked up
a Roland drum machine and started making beats and mixing records with my beats...later
we would call this "blending". I linked up with different rappers along the way, but they
would shake loose after a while and I just kept pushin! I finally got a keyboard that
changed my life... an Ensoniq EPS! That was the start of serious beats and production!I built a small studio and kept makin tracks soon after that I released "Planet K.Y." in
1994! It was the first full length rap album to come out of Kentucky! I sold alot of copies
but the people involved in the project did not have my best interest at heart, I performed
all over the southeast opening up for Too Short, Tribe called Quest, Souls Of Mishief and
countless others. I followed the release of "Planet KY" with a self titled CD in 1996. Also
in 94' I opened a local record store called "The Muzic Shoppe" it was a small store and I
sold ALOT of Hip Hop and Rap music in Kentucky which at the time was unheard of.I jumped into communications with pagers and cellphones in 96' and started selling ALOT
of pagers and then phones, so rap took a back burner so I could go get this money!!!
In 2000 I opened another "Muzic Shoppe" on the campus of "the University of Kentucky"
Also around 2000 I rebuilt a studio "Fa REAL" and started a record label called 101 Records Inc.
and a publishing company called "Beats by WO" with BMI... then I began droppin tracks and recordin'
all over again! I dropped a compilation in 2002 called "Volume One" with features from dudes I was
workin with at the time like Dee May, AREA and I also met Cujo Louciano!! In 2003 101 Records
released the biggest sellin project to date called "Version 2.0" it was the first release with
digital distribution and it featured ALOT of peeps from Kentucky including a new artist by way
of Houston/Oakland called Kiko! Shortly after "Version 2.0" Cujo got locked up and Dee and AREA
stopped rappin!!So here I was again, starting all over I then realized I needed to push myself out there so I
released a freestyle mixtape called "Da Franchise". Then me and Kiko released a mixtape called
"Underground Allstars" then the greatest thing ever happened......Jesus came into my life and
within six months I dropped a gospel/hip hop album called "Convictions"!!After all this I met a cat by the name of Guy House, he was from my neighborhood and we
immediately started workin on his solo album called "Identity Theft"!! I also started the
groundwork for Kiko's solo project called "Swisher Dreams"!!! Cujo Louciano was also released
from incarceration and we immediately recorded and released the street classic "From the Cellblock
to the Booth" mixtape!!! To keep our names hot on the streets I dropped a mixtape called "MP3 Kangz"
which featured (ME) Whyteowle, Kiko and Guy House!! 101 Records is now a company with a REAL website
and we get hundreds of hits and downloads weekly!!I also started a new mixtape series called "Bluegrass Conspiracy" and I feature not only indie's
but major artists as well!! It's going down! 101 Records Inc. I appreciate ya'll supportin this
