What Katie Did: Faux Vintage Corsets, Lingerie and Stockings

About Me

What Katie Did is a UK company that designs and manufactures faux vintage corsets, lingerie and hosiery heavily influenced by the 1940s and 1950s. What Katie Did was founded in 1999 and and in that time we've dressed everyone from Miss Marple to Kate Moss. In 2007 were voted 'Burlesque Costumier of the Year' by the Ministry of Burlesque and dressed London's Royal Ballet. 2008 has already seen us on the cover of I-D Magazine and London's Time Out.

What Katie Did produce two collections a year with a few limited edition lines being introduced in between to keep everything fresh and up to date (even if that date is 1947!)
Our collection can be purchased online at What Katie Did, at our London boutique which is situated in the heart of London's vintage shopping hotspot: Portobello Road. We also supply independent boutiques worldwide.

My Interests

Vintage fashion from the 1940s and 1950s especially vintge (or faux vintage) lingerie and hosiery including fully fashioned stockings, girdles, corsets and bullet bras.

I'd like to meet:

People who appreciate old school glamour.

Music:

Big band swing.

Movies:

The Notorious Bettie Page - what else?

Television:

The 10pm slot gets me every time: Lost, Prison Break etc. Why do the series have to be so long though? I've no idea what's happening in Lost now and have returned to the light relief (!) of House and Grays Anatomy.

Books:

Anything and everything. In my teens I went through Bukowski, Miller, Kerouac et al - and it's been a slipperly slope downhill since then - I even read The Da Vinci code and guess what? It really wasn't that bad.

My Blog
