At the time when hip hop was having its Golden years 94, 95, when Biggie, Tupac, Nas and Snoop where some of the biggest artist. Mel Official was just a apprentice of the group Blacksoul. There Mel will cross the path of such artist & producers, Akapella, Fuclip, Black, Guess Who, Alo-heed and Double M. Not to long after the group deceide to part different ways, so Mel & Black combined together and formed the group Blak MaLe.
In 1998, at the age of 15 Mel was writing his first album with his X group member Blak, which was title FIRST TERMS. With the witty lyrics, skillful tactics, the ability of a word smith and original production BlakMaLe’s album was genius. After the album was recorded it was heard V.P. of Vision records, but didn’t see the light of day due to lost of distribution.As time passed Mel & Blak would take different paths. The streets was always a option for any kid growing up in the streets of Newark. So Mel did his best with staying focus & writing about the reality of the streets. Performing at open mics, " Black 45 events" Mel would pick up the ability to perform. Later Mel will go on to meet K- Born a.k.a Knowledge and Ray. Double M then formed something new which is called Solar Digital Recordings.In 2001 Mel begin receiving tracks from the producers, Double M , Ray and K- Born. Together they all were able to formulate one of the hoods favorite demos, which was titled Flood The Streets.Which had a genuine sound and till this day can be played in any region. This Demo was also shopped to Def Jam, but was told by the A.R. " Skane" that they already had a Jersey artist.. " Joe Buttons"Mel just continued writing and recording matériel. Creating in house music & developing his main stream Appeal. His latest release was a mixtape, which was titled The Hood Prince. With the intentions to create a buzz through the streets of New Jersey.This Present time Mel is preparing his self for the music business. Hes’ currently studying the hip hop game and building his craft.
