"Syren Spawn Entertainment" We mostly work with Metal Bands and will occasionally take on VERY good musicians in other genres. What we do is Incubation defined in the dictionary as: "The interval between the initial application of heat to an egg and its hatching." or "The time interval required for the development of disease; the time between the invasion of the body by a disease agent and the appearance of the first clinical signs." ~~Syren Spawn is the Pacific Northwest-based company that has been turning heads with its innovative approach to supporting the emerging artist since it was started in 2003 by myself, Kurt Struebing of NME (RIP 2005) and Clark Chaos of The BrainDead. Syren Spawn combines Touring, Promotion and Marketing, Recording Production, Label shopping, musician insurance, basic band business consulting, management and more to provide a warm and nurturing environment for "hatching" our Spawn that the Pacific Northwest is birthing. Syren Spawn is not about managing bands. It's about "incubating" the professional musician(s) that will put this area of the world back on the map as the nest of talented musicians. Since the untimely loss of our founding father, Kurt Struebing (NME) we have slowed down. I took over some of Kurts duties and I took on a new partner, Pete Droz. Pete took over most of my direct work with bands and industry people. We are mostly known by bands and venues for our unique set of guidelines that we expect our bands to adhere to regarding professionalism in their dealings with venues, other bands, their fans and other industry professionals. We are highly aware that first impressions and unknowingly making a bad one can affect a band for a long time to come. As part of the incubation process we try to teach our spawn not only where to find the "worms" but how to catch them as well.. then we give flying lessons and watch them go off to make their own way.~~ Seattle Metal (SMO).. (RIP)was an organization designed to showcase its member bands. We promoted our bands through live shows in and around the Seattle area. SMO was in existence from Aug 2000 to June 2006 as an .. community and an extensive network of local musicians, industry people and fans of the genre; the "SMO Brotherhood". Many personal friendships and professional collaborations have been formed between the musicians and the many other individuals who worked hard to create a stable environment for the local scene. As a result, Seattle enjoys a highly developed metal talent pool and a great amount of co-operation between bands. At it's peak in 2002 SMO was also the largest organization of local unsigned bands in the Nation. Those involved have evolved and enjoy great success in their personal and professional relationships in our tightly knit metal family. Rage Onward! ~~~SLAMtv now known as Plutonium is a one-hour music video program on Comcast Cable in Olympia WA. We are modeled after Uranium on Fuse, but with a heavier playlist and few restrictions on language and content. For a regional program, we have had a few milestone moments in the last two years. We were the first show to broadcast the "Unfounded" video from Eclipse Records artists FIVE FOOT THICK in 2003. We were probably one of the first shows to broadcast the new "Get Your Dead On" video from SCUM OF THE EARTH, another Eclipse artist featuring members of WHITE ZOMBIE and POWERMAN 5000. I know for a fact, we were one of the ONLY shows brave enough to broadcast the "One Shot, One Kill" video from Relapse artists DYING FETUS, and we are one show on an extremely short list of programs brave enough to broadcast the new vids from Black Metal gods EMPEROR and Death Metal Gods ENTOMBED,SUFFOCATION and EXHUMED. Enough of that self-congratulatory bullshit. If you gotta band and want to get yourself some west coast airplay, we are always accepting submissions from label-supported and self-supported bands.
