*Vegetarian for 9 years
*Finishing a bachelor's in social work in December 2006. Finishing a master's in social work in May 2008.
*Volunteer at a crisis line.
*Work in 2 antique malls.

I also occasionally work at Cherry Pit Antiques, a shop in Hallsville.
*Animal, just as much as human, rights are very important to me. I believe that in such an advanced society, something doesn't have to die/be tortured just so you can eat or drink. Not when there are humane alternatives. I also don't use leather and try to make food vegan as much as possible, but I classify myself as a vegetarian since on occasion there may be dairy or egg in my food. But you can still be my friend and a meat eater.
*I'm an intern for school credit at Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital.

My Interests

books...movies...art...antiques...good causes/humane acts....genuine people...anti-racist/anti-homophobia/anti-bigotry/anti-sexis m movements...vegetarianism...hello kitty...adult swim cartoons....playing old-school Nintendo...just about anything I suppose. I also do social work at a cancer center. I also have a strange sense of humor, which is why I love the web-comic Married to the Sea so much.

Music:

the postal service...bad religion...alkaline trio...placebo...pinhead gunpowder...weezer (pre-green album)...david bowie...lot's more....i like a lil bit of this n that really...there's plenty of other music I like but figure I'm not cool enough to claim fan-a-tude.

Movies:

night of the living dead...dawn of the dead....evil dead....amelie...mallrats...clerks...suburbia...resevoir dogs...royal tenebaums...rushmore...4 rooms...i'll watch just about anything once that isn't teen-sploitation/big-hollywood-chockfull-of-explosions-crap. I *love* horror movies but truly am a wimp. I like living-dead-/monster type movies...especially bad ones, but that's because I'm sick and see the humor in something trying too hard.

Television:

I don't get too much time to watch t.v. but I do enjoy Iron Chef (japanese original) and Good Eats on Food Network. I desperately loved the show 'I'm with Busey' because Gary Busey is psycho. I also like, of all things, the TLC documentaries. Am I the only one who saw, 'My Skin Could Kill Me?'?! I also like 'Lost'. Because I enjoy the torture of waiting.
