Jody Rush ~ Times Escaping

About Me

After a ten-year absence from the East Coast, Jody Rush is back! While living in Arizona and Colorado he’s expanded on his musical talent. Playing in coffee houses and clubs throughout the southwest and in Mexico. He has returned with new music. Having had the opportunity to front a band in Colorado doing a variety of music, his vocals have matured. Bringing about a new love he has for singing.

While listening and watching Jody play these songs of hope and inspiration from the Sonoran Desert, you will notice the emotion and intensity that exudes while he performs. Jody puts his heart and soul into every song he plays. And it seems to just pour over into the audience. With this energy he has been able to build a loyal fan base wherever he plays.

He started playing guitar 25 years ago when a friend, Matt Chrusciel, showed him three chords. One year later he wrote his first song. And in 1993 he released his first album titled “Spiral Stare.” It was a seven-song release and sold over 300 copies in just two months by word of mouth alone.

Jody’s songs have received airplay on KXCI public radio in Tucson, Arizona by disc jockey Eb Ebberline. After hearing Jody at an open mic night he invited him to submit his music into the song rotation and be a featured artist on his show. Jody also had the pleasure to sing the National Anthem for a sold out crowd of 7600 people at the former Reading Municipal Stadium on July 4th, 1995.

Heyday recording artist and guitarist for The Church, Marty Willson-Piper had this to say after hearing some of Jody’s songs, “There are definitely some mind expanding lyrics here!”

With lyrics that will intrigue the mind combined with his textured acoustical style and smooth vocals, Jody Rush has original songs and cover tunes that will appeal to everyone. From the ethereal sounds of Bygone Days, on the Spiral Stare CD, and Capture the Rarities, to the melodic sounds of Gone in a Flash and Deep in Reflection, you are sure to hear something you will enjoy. Walking On Art and Times Escaping are two of Jody’s favorites that come across beautifully when played live.

Jody’s variety of cover tunes stretches across the charts from the 60’s to the present. He tries to please everyone with a favorite song. Always receiving a gracious response often with the crowd singing along. You’ll be pleased and happy to tell everyone he is playing at your establishment or private party.
