Nenad Bach's NEW Blog at http://nenadbach.blogspot.com
Nenad Bach, the Croatian born New Yorker, classically trained turned Rock-n-Roll singer songwriter and film score composer (wow!), brings us his latest release in multi-media format. This is what the WEB is for - multi-media pop/rock music enhanced by the haunting strings of the tamburitza in every song, "like an echo of who I am and where I come from" - Nenad.
Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Nenad graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Rijeka. Classically trained in violin and flute, then bitten by the Rock n Roll bug, he formed his own band whose first album reached number one in his home land. Scored some films, released some albums - two reached No. 1 in Europe, traveled around Europe.....and headed for the USA. Within two years he recorded his first US album. More movie scores, starting on a new album, then war erupted in his home. When genocide occurred in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, Nenad focused his musical talents and influence to help stop the war and not on commercial records. Nenad shared the stage with Luciano Pavarotti, The Chieftains, Bono, U2, Meat Loaf, Michael Bolton, Dolores ORiordan and many others at the Pavarotti and Friends Concert Together For The Children Of Bosnia. Over 100 million people have seen the video "Can We Go Higher?" which was produced and directed by Nenad to help children who lost their parents in the war.
But now "A Thousand Years of Peace" is out and contains the song "Can We Go Higher?" that international audiences have applauded. "Can We Go Higher?" may be the most recognized song on "A Thousand Years of Peace" yet the other fifteen selections are full of music - many internationally recognized artists round out this well produced album. From the immediately recognizable voices of actors Martin Sheen and Michael York, to rock legends Garth Hudson (The Band), Vince Welnick (The Grateful Dead), Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants) and Blue Adriatic - the guest list is impressive. The production ranges from mysterious ("I Never Told You") to wistful ("The Roads Come Back") to flat out rock ("WWW//WWW") - the percussive enhancements are perfectly placed - take a listen!

On his most recent tour he performed his music accompanied by Klapa Sinj, a Croatian a capella group, in New York City, Washington D.C. and Chicago.
Nenad also writes and records music for film and theater. He has scored many features and short films. One such project was "King of Cool," a biopic about the life of Steve McQueen which premiered on American Movie Classics (AMC), to over 65 million households. Another was "Life beyond Timothy Leary". Subsequently, Nenad scored the Mladen Juran film "Transatlantic", which was the Croatian entry for Best Foreign Film in the 1999 Academy Awards and a film directed by Burt Young called "Murder on Mott Street". homeland, Croatia. His most recent work includes the production of four new SACDs (super audio compact discs) of a capella music from Croatia (by Klapa Sinj, Klapa Fa Lindjo, Klapa Navalia and Klapa Luka). Nenad sang in the new recordings of "We Are Family" benefit for the Sept. 11th fund as well as scored the film "The Making and the Meaning of We Are Family". He recently completed work as a language consultant for the literature and film project for four of the Harry Potter books.
Nenad is the creator and editor of CROWN (Croatian World Network, www.croatia.org ), an internet-based news and information source for Croatians and friends of Croatia throughout the world. The site posts news of interest and now features an interactive calendar for posting of events.
In 2006 Globus Magazine listed Nenad Bach as one of the 100 most influential Croatians in the world.
The long-awaited new album desired by his many fans from all over the world, called "Everything is Forever" is in the recording stage and will be released in 2008. Several songs will feature the sounds of his homeland by incorporating Croatian a cappella singers.
Through his singing and songwriting Nenad's goal is to spread the message of joy and universal peace.
