Chris Lyne

At the age of 11, Chris Lyne received his first guitar from his parents – a proper replacement for the broomsticks which he used to pay tribute with at the time for his musical heroes such as SWEET and KISS, by trying to copy them in front of a mirror. This marked the start of what later was to become an impressive career of one of Germany’s finest Rock guitarists of today. After initially covering songs of his musical favourites Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, The Who and The Kinks with various school bands, the Berlin based guitarist’s professional career started with his first “real” band HEARTLYNE which he founded together with FAIR WARNING singer Tommy Heart in 1986 - a band which undoubtfully ruled at the time being the most successful Hard Rock band in town extending over several years. After the demise of HEARTLYNE, Lyne continued his career with playing guitar in the bands DEADLY TOY and CASHMYR plus with numerous works as a highly profiled session guitarist. At the end of the 90’s Chris Lyne and singer Tommy Heart started their current band SOUL DOCTOR. Their unique sound perfectly reflects Lyne’s intensive passion for classic Hard Rock and influences from bands such as British legends LED ZEPPELIN, THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE and BAD COMPANY as well as from various US bands of the genre. Three highly successful albums, “Soul Doctor” (2001)”, “Systems Go Wild” (2002) and “For A Fistful Of Dollars” (2005), were accompied by even more successful touring together with KINGDOM COME, DIO, AXEL RUDI PELL, BOB CATLEY (Magnum) and ALICE COOPER plus headlining gigs in Europe and Japan both which established the band as one of the finest and most powerful live acts of today. Lyne received massive stardom in Asia which reflected in various features in publications such as Young Guitar and Burrn! magazines. In 2006, Chris Lyne was invited by former MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP singer Gary Barden to join him as lead guitarist on stage at United Forces Of Rock Festival in Stuttgart, Germany. The year 2007 for SOUL DOCTOR resulted in new multi-album record deal for Europe with Germany based label Metal Heaven and with Marquee Inc. for the Asian territory. SOUL DOCTOR hit the studio in December 2006 to start the recordings of their new album, 4th “Blood Runs Cold” which is due for release on September 21st, 2007 in Japan and September 28th, 2007 in Europe. Forced by the great support of fans, press, friends and their new label alike, the recording and writing sessions for this record marked Chris Lyne’s step onto the next musical level. Lyne & SOUL DOCTOR most recently have been invited to share the stage with the SCORPIONS, AEROSMITH, HEAVEN & HELL, MEAT LOAF, former DEEP PURPLE singer JOE LYNN TURNER and many more at three of Europe’s leading Hard Rock festivals in 2007 – Sweden Rock, Firefest & United Forces Of Rock – where they undoubtfully will corroborate their status as one of the finest bands of the genre of today.
