About Me

From the ashes of the mid-nineties Phoenix music scene, emerged The FADE........
As Biggie Smalls could be heard gently pounding throughout an apartment complex in a ragged west Phoenix neighborhood, an older sound floated out of a bedroom window. Future front-man Drew Marsh sat huddled over his beat-up Yamaha acoustic guitar learning and banging out Beatles songs like they were his own.
The three founding members were neighborhood friends who ultimately formed The FADE because of their similar dreams and influences. Current bands like Sublime, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rage Against The Machine were proving that there were new lines to cross, and it couldnt be done alone. Classic bands like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin had done rock right years before, and now, with the production and innovation of Hip Hop, the road to a new musical revolution is paved for any who care to travel it.
The FADE always had a great deal of love for many different styles and genres of music. They knew that they wanted to make music that wasnt so easily encompassed by any particular style. At this point, The FADE became a vision.
In 2006, The FADE has evolved into a new sound. A new entity. One that is driven by songs that connect with people on a real and natural level. A sound that was born out of the heat of the southwest, and just like the Phoenix, continues to be reborn from its own ashes.
Singer, songwriter Drew Marsh and drummer Atom Albany are returning to the studio this summer to begin recording tracks for their next album, "Natural Selection". In a revival of raw songwriting, "Natural Selection" will be an all acoustic album , with no candy-coating. Expect to see a handful of new FADE songs, a couple older FADE songs revamped to new stylie, and yes, a couple covers. Covers?? Who might we cover you ask? Sublime! Much love. You'll have to wait for the MySpace album release to find out which ones though.
The FADE is back!
The music hasn't given up on us... and neither should you!
