I am the most famous guy you never heard of

About Me

It all started just before high school. I had played some music at some friends parties over the past few years. I had never really thought of it as djing. I just played what I thought people wanted to hear as the party progressed though the night. I didn't even try to mix the songs. When I was about 16 I got a job at water park that had a dj on the weekends. I thought this was great I saw how he mixed from one song to another. I was hooked at this point. I had to buy as much gear as I could and get to work. Three weeks later I had my first dj gig. RAVE DAVE was my dj name for that show, what I was 16 that was the least of my stupid choices I made that year. Two years have gone, I have had several dj gigs now and change to my name that some of you might remember. DJ GRAVITY, back in the Napster days I put a few tracks out you might have come across. Dr who (trance anthem mix) , Lunar Orbit, Big Boom(let the bass kick), and many long dj sets as well. I dropped the Gravity name in 2002 when I found over 300 people were using that name all over the world. My favorite dj residency has to be far and above my 2 years at The Temple of Sound in Portland Oregon. It has since closed otherwise I would recommend a visit. What was so special about that place was the vibe. Everyone was always up for something new. You could just leave the decks at home and show up with some gear and do a live PA set or throw down a classic house set whatever you felt like. I was most famous for my long sets that started usually around 5am and went until the sun had risen and started to warm the air for the new day.The Temple of Sound has two very unique dance floors. Downstairs the only square donut shaped dance floor I have ever seen. The dj booth was always on the move down there, so was the layout of the couches and decorations. Upstairs was a classic hardwood dance floor from another classic night spot in Portland, This room was also a no shoes room everyone danced in socks or bare feet. This was also about a 50 person capacity dance floor. Very cool for VIP and down tempo dj sets. Now after more than 15 years of djing and over 7 of producing my own tracks and remixes, I am enjoying a slower dj schedule and more time in the studio. 2008 Marked the release of my debut artist album My World. I spent a little over a year working to get it done. I am now working on my next album, no working title yet.
