About Me

tanya has had a burning yearning to rock out since she was a wee little thang. with dad being an r&b drummer, mom being a mega multi instrumentalist, and her aunt an opera singer, a musical path may have been lined up from the beginning. tanya began singing in the children's choir as well as at school often getting lead parts. classic/operatic training in high school tempted tanya as a possible musical path, but a need to write and play guitar over ruled that. there was even a fleeting look at musical theater which led to performing arts school. as a soloist in the marble gospel choir, later renamed the metro mass gospel choir, tanya has had the opportunity to perform at lincoln center, carnegie hall and town hall in new york city. tanya picked up a guitar about eight years ago to accompany all the songs that had accumulated over the years, and now writes from the deepest part of the well possible when the mojo moves. an album is in the works, and much more rocking is in the works. stay tuned.
tanya supports her creative habit as an early development specialist, teaching children in the areas of language, music, movement, art and science.
