Whispering melodies on crowded trains, humming hooks while
braiding hair or belting riffs through park passageways,
TK Rose, born Ta-Keesha White, lives in music, always singing,
always living the rhythms of our day. Inspired by classic soul,
gospel, rhythm & blues, and rock, this ever-evolving artist melts
infectious melodies, gripping beats and hypnotic vocals into what
has been dubbed Rock and Blues (Rock&B). “The world is filled with
the souls of men and women wrapped in chords and melodies, and if
we don’t take a moment to listen, we will miss what simple gifts surround
us everyday,†says TK Rose when explaining how her travels and work
experiences throughout the world influenced her as an artist.
The music of TK Rose is simple and vivid yet uniquely personifies what
it is that stirs within the human condition. Love, pain, longing, passion,
desire, fear, apprehension, jealousy, freedom and joy find breath in the
sweeping lull of her vocal range and artistic expression. TK Rose presents
to her listeners the stories that they want to tell, the secrets that they have
struggled with and the liberty that they celebrate. At the tender spunky age of 5 TK Rose would stand on the front porch and sing popular tunes
to the neighbors and passersby. The young TK basked in the smiles and applause of family and
friends when singing at church functions, graduation ceremonies, birthday parties, banquets,
talent shows, competitions, and community events. “In the middle of the day my mother would
call me down to the kitchen to sing Karen White’s “Superwoman†for a visiting friend.†It was not
long before TK Rose became known for her range and vocal power. While finding her way through musical genres TK Rose stumbled on the fusion of Rock and Blues
almost haphazardly. Her natural inclination to reveal the blatant sufferings of everyday life in pure
and common language kept her intrigued by the styles and dictations of Blues. Still Rock provided
a fire, a quickened pulse of adrenaline that galvanized TK’s performance. TK says, “When you
listen to a blues song you hear the tears, the rejection, the stinging heartache of the singer. There
is nothing like the real language of blues. But when you combine Blues with the blunt attack of
hard electric guitar chords, unearthing drum rolls and curling deep bass lines found in Rock, the
sweat and tears of a hard life take shape forcing the listener to keep it real with themselves and
face the reality of their experience.â€TK Rose is a refreshing wind of personality, artistic ability and intellect. Look forward to sultry
riffs, electrifying compilations and brutally honest yet relatable lyrics. Her songs empower the
downtrodden, encourage the disillusioned, and ignite the singer in all of us. Yes, when TK Rose
sings she makes you want to join in and take over. She gives you the confidence along with the
brazen assurance that you too can SANG!!
