About Me

B. Davis (KaLiM/Wordplay360/B. Down Beats) is a Spoke Words Poet & Author/Writer from out of the Mid-Atlantic Region in the United States of America; with in the Tri-State Area. He was able to see a little bit of the pro-black and free love 70’s times that would quickly come to an end do to the move of drugs and War at that time. Seen a lot of well known people that fell; Davis took mental notes with the hope that it would not over take him. At the age of 8 he started to write shot stories, and poems. In 5th and 6th grade one of his teacher put Davis in a Black History Play and that’s where he fell in love with the stage.In High school Davis worked for Comcast Cable at the age of 14 as a Video Tech, and sound engineer, he also took Issingryu Karate achieving a blue belt, ran Cross County and was named the top cross county runner in is high school his 9th, and 10th grade years, he wrestled his 10th, 11th, and 12th grand years where in his 10th grade year he placed 5th in the Henlopen Wrestling Championships, and in the next two years Davis became a Two time State Champion, an a Mid-Atlantic High School National Wrestling Champion. Davis worked hard to achieve his High School Diploma as well as a Technical Diploma in Radio & Television Broadcasting.In College Davis’ poem “Sounds of The Time” was published with the National Library of Poets, and a college friend put him on to doing his poetry on the stage, and became known around the college as “DEPOET”. In 2000 American Literary Press published his first collection of poems. At the same time he was able to place 3rd in the East Regional D-1 wrestling MECA in 1999, an again in 2001. In 2002 Davis did what most teachers said that he could not do, he work hard to get not one but two degrees. The 1st BA is in Radio Production, the 2nd BA is in Television Production. PAfter college Davis has been moving around the United States, doing spoken words poetry, at the same time achieving a Brown Belt in KODOKAN JUDO, publishing his 2nd collection of poems entitled “CHRONIC ILLNESS”, as well as a Spoken Words CD entitled “CHRONIC ILLNESS SPOKEN”, and self employed as an Audio/Video Consultant. Davis also is a music producer, and photographer. Davis has done his poetry, and music at places like Delaware State University, The Bowery Poetry Club (New York, NY), Luna’s Café (Sacramento, CA), Live N’ Direct (Butch –N- Nellie’s Sacramento, CA), Mahogany (Queen Sheba Restaurant Sacramento, CA) just to name some …Improvisation Poem By, Brock KaLiM "Just Chillen" 2009
