Dj Thobs

Thobeka A.K.A DJ Thobs was born in Boksburg on the Eastrand(RSA). She developed the love for house music, in March 2001.Thobs was introduced to the turntables by a friend, Dj Errol King. Within 8 weeks of mixing Thobs landed herself a residency at The Rock in Randburg. From the Rock, she progressed to private parties and was often in demand to be featured alongside DJ's like Oskido, Vinny, Fresh,Clive and Monde in various clubs.She caught the attention of Radio Show host Glen Lewis, who after hearing her demo mix, played it on his Breakfast show the following day and within a week thereafter, Thobs was recruited to join the stable of female DJ's at Skeelo and Pebbles Entertainment.For her first gig with Skeelo, she played 1 on 1 with The Glenzito at X4 in Pretoria.Thobs was fast taking the industry by storm, more especially after the release of her first CD Compilation SABC 1(Sghubu sa mampela vol.2) in 2004.She toured the country with Glen Lewis from Durban, PE, E London promoting her CD.Thobs featured in most of SAB Miller tours in the Gauteng Province.She was also the first female dj to entertain the most valued guests at the J&B Met - Cape Town in January 2006.She has graced most of Dunhill's gigs including their 100 years celebration in Pretoria (Mamelodi).She's been rocking masses not only in her home country, but also in Gaborone( The Fashion lounge), Swaziland (Why not?), Mozambique (Coco Lounge).Thobs says although she can keep the dance floor blazing all night, her personal choice is deepsoul.When you book Thobs for a show you're in for a funky ride. She can build any crowd from Soweto to Sandton and beyond.
