About Me

Allen Deck is an actor, announcer, voice talent, narrator, air personality, vocalist, performance artist, writer, producer, director, sound designer, conceptual artist, consultant, lecturer, pundit, raconteur, educator, and proud father. His commercial voice-over work has been heard in virtually every English-speaking country of the world. He has spent his entire life in various venues of show business, entertainment and communications. At one time or another he has done voicework for almost all of the Fortune 500. Demos of his voice-over talent - commercial, narrative and character work - can be heard above in addition to Deck’s rendition of The Cremation of Sam McGee. Of the literally tens of thousands of commercials he has voiced over the years worldwide, many have received top accolades in both national and international competition, including Best of Show TELLYs, ADDYs, CLIOs and many more. He was recognized for outstanding innovation by the National Education Television Association. Besides the major commercial broadcast networks, his narration work has aired over PBS, The History Channel, Discovery, A&E, The Learning Channel, and many more. His popular syndicated reggae show, 'Dread of Night,' has been heard on over 60 radio stations nationwide. He is the lead singer for the bands Das Twang! and Large Damaging Hail, whose keyboardist Brian Paulson is featured on the rendition of Sam McGee. Allen Deck studied broadcasting and theater at Butler University where he returned years later after spending time on three coasts and numerous tiny tropical islands to teach countless students in the techniques and nuances of Performance for the Electric Media and share his popular seminar on The Legacy of Orson Welles while serving on the faculty of Butler's Media Arts Department; after being recognized by the Defense Department for distinguished honors in both journalism and broadcasting, served on the faculty for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Services at the Defense Information School; is a graduate of Miami's Criteria Recording Studio RIAA School of Audio Production.
