E-THR

COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU!

About Me

E-THR was started by long time friends Jimmy Gumina and Paul Logus. The two met whilst working on Jims band Noisy Mama. Paul had just completed mixing singles for label mates Pantara, and was recruited. The two became fast friends. Since then, they have done many projects including Hounds of Desire.
In 2004 the two started E-THR. After years of doing things the way other people wanted and not being happy with the results, they decided to do things their way, without guidelines from a label or anyone; focusing on their personal taste, and not accepting compromise.
As the tracks came together, it became clear that the vocals had heavy demands. They called friend Paul Skowron, formerly of Noisy Mama, because of his ill range and depth.
Further down the road, Chris Merullo, was tapped as E-THR bassist. Like Skowron, he had roots in Noisy Mama as well as Hounds of Desire. Besides contributing bass overdubs and blood curdling yells, he stunningly excels in destruction, and is quite the McGiver when strolling through Walmart.
When the CD was completed, the Chris gave it to DJ Mike Karolyi at WCCC in Hartford thinking he might play it on the radio. After Karolyi heard the first track, he suggested instead that they enter a station contest where an unsigned band would open for White Snake at Webster Theater.
They did one rehearsal/photo shoot in Long Island and met the new drummer Davy for the first time. Weeks went by, and all was quiet. Talk of the contest started to die down. People started making plans.
The station was to announce the winner on a friday, one week before the show. But this was postponed again. As luck would have it, the band got word Monday, only four days before the show that they had won! But it is even better than that. The station had picked 100 bands out of the hundreds that submitted for the contest. They sent 100 bands to White Snake to pick the winner. It was like that.
E-THR met up at Chris's house and rehearsed for one day as an official band. The next day the played their very first gig opening for White Snake with an overwhelming response!
This has been a pretty wild ride for this group of friends. E-THR is setting course for the mid-west and their next set of gigs. Stay tuned!
P.S. The cd is available at http://www.ETHRBAND.com and cdbaby.com and Itunes!!!!!
