We are LOW KEY, but have hade the DOMINANT TOUCH all of our lives. It sums up our personality, philosophy, and musical approach.
We’re like that subtle LOW note that continues to resonate in your ears. We’re still here, and have something to say.
LKDT is writing/ producing-force. The members of this duo are Simone Ess Vijalantee and Melissa Dawn Lovely. The relationship is blood. We are first cousins on our mother’s side. Over the years we have shared a bond stronger than friendship, a bond that has solidified through time because of love, struggle and understanding of pain. We are natural born writer’s that have excelled academically and have continued to write on a personal and professional level.
One fall evening, Vijalantee was having a conversation on the phone with Dawn-Lovely. During the conversation she expressed a feeling that she hadn’t accomplished enough for her age.
Vijalantee looked out the window and said, “I’m sitting in my room, looking out the window watching the leaves fall on the ground. Even they are changing through time.” Dawn-Lovely said, “That sounds like a song.”
They laughed as she began to sing a little tune, “Dry leaves falling, my hearts calling.......”
Those words inspired them to write their first song together, “Seasons Changing”. Very fitting, this marked the beginning of change for them and the lives they once led.
