Donna Beatz came to Bradford Via Glasgow then the Shetland isles along the way forging a taste in music that is now seeing here play all over the country. Still only 27 Donna has gained a reputation for not compromising on the music she believes in and always getting the dance floor rocking. Her clubbing days on " the rock " aka as the Shetland isles for Donna were the best back in the day as one her close friends used to be resident dj at local nightclub meaning that she could get into the club called the Jubillie for free and get closer to the djs , thats were donnas love affair with music really started and knew she would love to be within the indusrty someday somehow?? When top acts like sister bliss , paul oakenfold , the late tony de vit and such other dj's came to Shetland she would always be there from begining of the night till the very end!Now after leaving Shetland Donna lives on the out skirts of Bradford with her wife Adele where most days you will find her either playing, talking about, creating ,looking for and more often than not mixing music. Having played at such nights as Bops, Tribal sessions, Assemble, Vanity Deluxe, Armed to the Teeth, Comedown, The Hub and Manipulate to name few she has plied her trade with world class DJ’s such as PHIL WEEKS, JASON HODGES, MEAT KATIE, ALEX UNDER, LEE MORTIMER, CASSETTE JAM, KATE LAWLER and CRAIG HAMILTON the list goes on.How she obtained her first gig , well she went in to the local record shop in Bradford and asked she could play at one the nights that was flyered on there shop window , much to her suprise he said yes sure.! And the gigs just grew from there..................She even found time to win a competition in Mixmag to meet & have a full day mixing session with the Legendery Marshall Jefferson in 2006.
In the same year she also decided to enter dj of year in manchester where she became 2nd out of 50 othe dj's in the competition held at the Arq on deansgates locks.Donna’s style behind the decks pushes the envelope more each time she play’s taking full advantage of what the DJ booth offers .In Donna’s sets don’t be surprised to hear crazy loops, warped affects ,and tunes that if anybody else played would sound out of place but Donna seems to makes the strangest of tunes fit.Beatzy has helped run & co found some good events through out the last couple of years within the yorkshire area getting the feel & learning the ins and outs of promotion.Pushing herself more and more eachtime and not taking no for an answer you can certainly see why Donna Beatz one to watch now & forever.Donna Beatz @ Manipulate
