Cat Presley has been steeped in music since he was born. At an early age he was always listening to records his parents had aquired over time and would emulate playing guitar to 'Walking with my angel' b-side to the Bobby Vee single 'Run to him'.After much pestering his parents they finally relented and bought Cat his first guitar for christmas along with a 'Play guitar today' book. Cat taught himself to play immediately and would start to bash out his own ideas with the chords he'd learned. It wasn't long before he wanted to form his own band to perform the clutch of songs he'd got under his belt and so Sweet Revenge was formed with two friends. Sweet Revenge only played a couple of local gigs along with a newly recruited bass played before Cat was soon playing in two bands....his brother, a drummer, wanted in on the act and formed his own band Xoduz. The pressure of playing in two bands finally took its toll and Sweet Revenge folded so that Cat could devote more of his time to Xoduz who were getting some serious airplay and interviews on local Radio Trent. It was at this time that Cat and the band were signed to Vision Records and Cat, being the main songwriter of the band, becoming a member of the Performing Rights Society. Xoduz recorded their first demo 'A nice girl from the cake shop' with Vision Records, which again got some good airplay. Alas Xoduz, having briefly become Strangers in Israel, split due to work commitments of other band members.Cat, now having had enough of the Midlands music scene, travelled north to the Leeds area where he was soon bashing out tunes with local band the Attic. The band played many gigs in the local area and got good press coverage. He can be heard on the 'Next for shaving' cassette, which also contains one of Cats own compositions 'Blitkrieg Romance'. A change in musical direction found Cat alienated by the band and he was soon replaced. Cat joined local indie band Carbtrash for a couple of gigs in the area, until the singer quit the band to go travelling.Having had enough of fickle muscians Cat decided to follow a solo career and this brings us up to date with his biography. Cat has his own studio and prides himself on writing, playing, recording all the instruments and material himself. As an iconoclast you never know whats going to come next and thats the way Cat likes it.Here are a few vids of Cat....enjoy:
