Matt Leadbetter

Resophonic guitarist Matt Leadbetter is one of the top musicians on the circuit today.Being around music at an early age he started playing the dobro at the age of 8 years old.Matt is a self taught player who has learned much of his playing from long hours of listening and studying other resonator guitarist both on record and in person.Traveling on the road with his father Phil Leadbetter,Matt had the oppertunity to be around some of the top bluegrass musicians in the world.Matt made many friends while hanging out backstage at many of these events and was also able to take advantage of many offers from many groups who asked him to join them on stage.Since early 2004,Matt has been traveling around the world.He landed his first gig as he became a member of the band Blue Moon Rising where not only was he featured as the resonator guitarist,but also a harmony singer.As the year went on Matt got to meet Bell Buckle Recording artist Valerie Smith where soon after he joined her band Liberty Pike.His resonator guitar playing and harmony vocals was a big part of this band and was also featured on two Valerie Smith recordings, "Thats What Love Can Do" and "Wash Away Your Troubles."
