About Me

My name's Matt, and I love all things cinema. I've been working in a bar for longer than I can remember, but now I'm pursuing goals I that I should've years ago! I've already made some EXTREMELY low budget movies, but am slowly working my way up. Because you didn't ask, here's my filmography:The Negative Zone 1997 (15 min.) The story of a guy whose guilt over something horrible causes his evil twin to appear. Mayhem ensues. Brush With Death 1997 (70 min.) The story of a guy who makes a deal with the devil, wherein he can "get" any girl he wants. But Satan, along with his sidekick "Grim", have other plans in store for him. Mayhem ensues. Crimson Dawn 2001 (135 min.) The story of a guy and his hedonistic friends who discover Crimson Dawn, a little red pill with very euphoric effects. Said pills unfortunately are being distributed by a clan of vampires with the intention of taking over the world! Somehow, romantic entanglements and zombies figure into this (not necessarily with each other. C'mon, guys, zombie love is gross). Mayhem ensues. Sucky McSuck Goes to Vegas 2005 (10 min.) The story of a guy in Vegas . . . in his hotel room. Something ensues, I don't know exactly what you'd call it. Sucky McSuck Episode I: Rise of the Skank 2006 (60 min.) Chronicles events leading up to the Sucky's Vegas adventure, we also poke fun at other movies, and Normanites in general. Just Another Tuesday Night 2006 (5 min.) A serial killer stalks his next victim. Dawn of the Bed 2007 (4 min.) Remember earlier when I said zombie love is gross? Our most tasteless short yet! Liquor, Beer & Wine 2007 (26 min.) Simultaniously my most low-key and ambitious effort to date, it's the story of lives in and out of a bar. It took almost four years to make (CRIMSON DAWN took a mere three!), but I think the wait was well worth it. Check back for showings over the next year! Return Back to the Sucky Future TBA 2008 Sucky's back from Vegas in a wild tribute to 80's goodness! UNTITLED SHORT 1 TBA 2008 UNTITLED SHORT 2 TBA 2008 Lowdown Entertainment makes another go of the festival circuit with these two "serious" projects. Check back for info.

My Interests

"A truly successfull cinematic accomplishment inevitably results in the absolute compulsion of the viewer to discuss the film in question with one or more others for the duration of at least a good fifteen minutes, subsequent to initial screening."

I'd like to meet:

Looking to make contacts to make more movies. I have projects I'm working on at the moment, but I won't object to helping out others on their productions, whether it be student, independent, big budget, you name it!

Yeah, that's a lot. If it's a genre film, I'll watch it. I really like all kinds of movies and love discussing them.

Television:

I watch The Simpsons or anything Adult Swim, when I can. Thas bout it.

Books:

Elmore Leonard is a must. I'd like to get into others, but I find myself preoccupied with...

Heroes:

...the comic books. Duality, morals, it's all there. Some people may scoff at reading a magazine with a lot of pictures, but there are some really good stories out there (and they sort of taught me how to storyboard my movies). I relate to the Silver Surfer quite a bit. So, yeah, imma geek, deal with it.

My Blog

I guess they laughed at George Lucas . . .

LIQUOR, BEER & WINE, the culmination of 3 years of hard work, just cannot get a break. Once again, I received a (very polite) rejection notice from a festival I was positive the movie would get into,...
