Jordan PHILIPPE

Jordan Philippe begins playing music at the age of 13, starting on guitar, drums, wooden flute and later turned to play tenor/soprano saxs and metal flute. He has worked with different bands in Brittany going from traditionnal breton and irish music (with Medjan, les Ravageous or Dam'Fonk) to soul-funk (Lezards Goover, Moonboots) or Ethiopian music (Badume's band), with a great interest in Jazz, and in big bands music (Ze big band, Ballon latin). He worked composing and arranging in Paris conservatory with Pierre Bertrand (Paris Jazz Big Band, Claude Nougaro, Jean-Pierre Como...), and saxophones with André Villéger (Caratini Jazz Ensemble, Claude Bolling, Patrick Artero, Julien Clerc...). He is now working as an arranger for different artists who need to bring brass or woodwind instruments and strings to their music, and continues to play with Dam'Fonk, Mrs and Hippies (brassband with female voice) and others. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- Après avoir jouer dans différentes formations Funk (Moonboots, Lezards Groover Family), Jazz (Ze big band, Fred Guesnier Quartet), Musique gitane (Tahrgi Nuschma, BDK quartet), Musiques traditionnelles bretonnes (Medjan, les Ravageous, Dam'Fonk), irlandaises ou éthiopiennes (Badume's band), et obtenu une licence en musicologie, Jordan Philippe se passionne de plus en plus pour la composition et l'arrangement qu'il étudie au conservatoire de Paris avec Pierre Bertrand (Paris Jazz Big Band, Claude Nougaro, Jean-Pierre Como...), tout en poursuivant l'étude du saxophone avec André Villéger (Caratini Jazz Ensemble, Claude Bolling, Patrick Artero, Julien Clerc...). Titulaire d'un DEM d'Arrangement/Ecriture Jazz, il propose aujourd'hui ses services aux artistes (tous styles confondus) qui désirent enrichir leur musiques de sections de cuivres, de bois ou de cordes.
