About Me

What can a person say about themselves, how extraordinary of an opportunity to sell ones self. To be honest or to exclude those subtle facts that may or may not offend, repulse or scare away the reader? Well I can say for certain that above anything I am now and will for ever be a real funny individual. I love to laugh and feel that you should laugh at least once a day, and if it can be fit in; laughter all day is imperative! Tears of sadness are allowed; but only if, and this is in rear cases, if they are followed by tears of joy. I am what some people call endowed with a big "ba-dunk-a-dunk!!" We can thank my Cuban parents for that one!! Not only did I get blessed with a BIG ASS- I also got great hair, and a stubborn streak! In my chosen profession, which I truly LOVE-- I am a Private Chef, I love to cook food form all around the world and am unlucky enough to not have been anywhere but right here in these great United States!! My goal is to feed the masses while not making them massive, I specialize in nutritional cooking, while keeping the food just as spicy and fun as I am. I am the mother of 2 great and wonderful kids, whom keep me busy, busy, busy!! My favorite thing to do is spend time with them. I also love to spend time with my friends, who I might add; I am damn lucky to have. God knows that without them I would not have made it this far. I always say my Mother did not give me sisters, but God did. As for God well I to have to give the Big Guy plenty of thanks, he gives me the strength to keep going when I want to quite and the brains to know when to quit! Not a day goes by with out me giving thanks, and weather you are a believer or not, its important to recognize that there is something greater out there and we need to stop at least one time and give thanks that he gets to choose when to pull the plug, not us! And last but certainly not least, I love my dogs, they are without a doubt the most unconditionally loving creatures on the planet. I have 3 and if it were possible I would have a sanctuary for all unwanted dogs. They always great me with lots of love and are always sad to see me go! I know a lot of readers out there might feel differently, but it is what it is.100 % CUBAN GIRL... It's like being born with spices in your blood and being named after your Papi's favorite cigars. It's getting diamonds pierced in your ears after five days of birth, wearing Royal Violets cologne every day until age 15, (still do) and throwing a fifteenth birthday party that costs your parents more than your first car. It's loving Marti and hating Castro. Lighting candles at Mass for "La Caridad del Cobre"; and having to kiss every Cuban cheek like you're related. It's looking European, but feeling Caribbean; and saying, "Yes, I am Cuban because my parents are". Its meals at every party; parties for every occasion. It's serving your skinny uncle piles of "lechon" on "Nochebuena" while your three hundred pound aunt drinks crema de vie. It's having Turkey with white rice and black beans, and flan with a slice of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. It's eating the "Cuban" birthday cake wishing you had Carvel; It's the "Little white boxes" at birthday parties filled with 1 pastelito de carne, 1 tamal, 2 croquetas, a bocadito and maybe a toy! It's learning to dance merengue and salsa (before Salsa Lovers) from your Papi or Tio or abuelito and knowing the difference between a guajira and a guaracha. It's being able to sing The Star Spangled Banner and the Cuban National Anthem. (Some of us actually had to memorize the words!) It's knowing at least two lines of the Guantanamera's lyrics. It's having cafe con leche for breakfast, Burger King for Lunch, and chuletas de puerco, arroz blanco y garbanzos or chicharos for dinner and a slice of apple pie for dessert. It loves the hot, humid air of Miami; its drinking cortaditos; It's eating guayaba, cream cheese and crackers; It's knowing that "this never happened in Cuba"; Even if you've never been there. It's certain sexiness in the say she walks and the twinkle in the eyes of any Cuban woman; it’s talking too fast in English and running your words together in Spanish. It's being born and raised in a free country and being madly in love with a restless island you've never even seen... My Interests

Cooking of course, Spending time with my kids, and friends, working out, walking, hiking, every now and then going to the night club to dance the stress away!!

I'd like to meet:

All types of people, as long as they have a zest for life and are relativity without anger, negative attitudes, or feeling sorry for oneself. (I’m a firm believer of moving forward without looking behind ) People are there own masters, they control how and what they feel, attitudes are what we choose to be every day, how and what attitude is up to ones-self. I want to be around people who choose to have positive feelings towards life and want to be around the same kind of people. My Godfather, a very wise man has told my family a saying that at this time I find it perfect to share with you, here it goes: Words can never express adequately the incredible impact that attitude has towards life. The longer I live, the more I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to what happens. I think that the most significant decision that I can make day by day is to choose my attitude. My attitude is more important than my education, my bank account, my triumphs, my defeats, my fame or my pain. What others may think of my circumstances, my position or me. Attitude helps me to go forward or hinder my progress in life. It can light my fire or rob my hopes. When my attitudes are correct, there are no barriers high enough, there are no valleys low enough, no extreme dreams or challenges to great for me. I have never forgotten it and I keep a copy of it at my desk, I see it everyday and I am proud to say that now In my very late youth and having experienced life for some time now, I can truly appreciate what it embodies. I hope that just maybe a wise old man can now through the technology of today touch more lives of people than just his family.

Movies:

Anything that will make me laugh, think, and cry. The best is when a movie is able to do it all at once.

Television:

I love crime dramas, and comedy best. Of course anything that is on the Food Network, and I also like shows that make me think like Forensic Files, and Detective Shows. Just love the new show on ABC “Pushing Daises”.
Which Celebrity Chef are You?

You are GIADA DE LAURENTIIS!
You're more about being seductive than entertaining. You're great to look at, you can throw a simple pasta dish together like it's nobody's business and you could handle a crowd, if the need arose! Everyday Italian is your ideal show.
How do you compare?

Books:

Of course Cookbooks!! However Suspense, Romances and Mystery novels are good to cuddle up with a warm blanket and a cup-o-jo!!! Or a great glass of vino!

Heroes:

Our Men and Women in Uniform! God bless them all. Thank you for protecting us! My parents for without them I would not be here and my children, not only do they make me laugh everyday, but they teach me something new and help me to remember that life is a gift and not to take that for granted. God of course is a constant in my life and he is my hero and will always be. Oh yea and I love the BRONCOS!!!!!
