Sordid

Back in 1993 Gato was in a band without a name which was just a bunch of kids who used to get together to play some Metallica covers and drink some beers. At the same time but in a different part of Santiago Dago and ZBK did the same thing. Somehow they both bands became one at the end of that year with Gato, drums, Dago, guitar, Carolo, Bass and ZBK, vocals... They kept on playing covers for a couple of years from bands such as Megadeth, Sayer, Metallica, Black Sabbath, etc. Playing heavy rock music was never the main interest of any of the members of this band all of them were studying or working in different sort of things at the time they were in Sordid, by the way I have to say that we took the name from the lyrics of "Worse" of a Chilean metal band called CRIMINAL. When we met Gordo in 1998 things changed we started to write our own songs and we started playing lots of shows mainly among the universities scene in Santiago. With the members of the band more into their private lives Sordid almost disbanded during the first years of the new century but we dicided we needed to record our songs we did it in 2003 with Drinking Fucking Fighting EP... After that Carolo left to Belgium and we needed a bassist and we started playing with Tommy, an excellent bass player . He was very happy playing with us up to the day he found pout he was about to become a father and he told us his days as a Bassist were over. In 2004 we got together again without Dago and with a new guitar player "El Puma" and a not that new in the band bass player "Don Bear" we wrote new songs new tuning and ready to record the new stuff... That year ZBK left to England and again the band lost a member while Gato and Gordo were having some problems with "El Puma" and "Don Bear" That year Gato and Gordo started working together in Sordid songs. ZBK came back from UK at the end of 2005 and the band was on again we found a 17 year old riff monster called "Wild-o" who gave Sordid a new level of power, things were great with that line up completed with Gordo's brother "Litros" playing the bass. We did a couple of big gigs during 2006 when "Gato" left to Italy, at the same time Gordo decided he needed time for himself and playing wasn't his main interest anymore. Two months ago Gordo called ZBK and both of them agreed in getting the band together again now with a new Teenager in the drums, Ricardo who has given the band the power they needed to keep it going....
