The whole world's in love with the Es !!

About Me

Fan of hiphop music and culture first and foremost. I fell in love with hiphop in the mid 80s believe it or not while living in Trinidad and Tobago (1984 - 1991). One day during a commercial break they aired a rap video by these three dudes in dark shades, kangol hats, leather jackets and Adidas shoes (no laces) with the tongues sticking out. I would later learn that they were called Run DMC. Weird in retrospect that they would air rap videos in between regularly scheduled programming. Anyway, I fell in love with the whole style, the walk, the talk and the gear they had on. Hiphop was not really big at the time in T&T, but occasionally they would air the odd rap song here and there. It was all about the soca and reggae in T&T at the time. In 1991 when my family moved back to Canada, hiphop was all I was into. Acts like Big Daddy Kane, Lord Finesse, BDP and EPMD inspired me to write my own rhymes. I've been doing so on and off as a hobby ever since. Having been born to Cameroonian parents, growing up in Canada and Trinidad, I have been able to incorporate some of these cultural differences into who I am and what I do. Hiphop has been in a sad state for quite some time now and it is up to all true school kats to raise the bar and keep it alive and strong for the next generation. Ignorance and materialism is killing it (hiphop) and us. In the words of KRS-One (Big Joe Krash)...we need to "Break the chain...Word!!"
