I am here for Friends

About Me

I grew up in Mira Loma, California, a wonderful rural community close to Riverside. Even as I watch homes being built on our dairyland and the thoroughbred farms close, I refuse to let go! Mira Loma will stay country!I have raised registered dairy goats and ridden horses my whole life. I am a HUGE horse racing fan! I teach elementary school students and enjoy gardening and watching TVG on my time off.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

You!Anyone interested in dairy goats, SoCal thoroughbred race fans, former 4-H members (especially from the Mira Loma, California area in the 70's and 80's), speed demon barrel racers, anyone who loves the country life!

Movies:

Check out the great video above paying tribute to Mira Loma Thoroughbred Farm, sold a couple of years ago to the developers. It will make you cry! We grew up with it, and it's strange to see the land lying vacant, the deal not yet made to build. That freeway that cuts through my river land is state route 15 going to Vegas. They put it through parallel to the Thoroughbred farm, and it was only a matter of time before the beautiful mares were gone and nice breaking track was plowed under. This has got to stop! We don't have enough water for these houses, and they've made it too expensive to farm. Help! CHECK IT OUT! I still stretch out like that along the river though!!! CRAZY FAST.

Books:

Anything by Richard Bach (God, I'm so 70's!), Spoon River Anthology, Little House Books, Dairy Goat Journal, most autobiographies.

Heroes:

All of our SoCal jocks! You guys blow me away. The grooms and hot walkers, exercise persons who truly love these beautiful animals. And the outriders...the other life I could have had, am I tough enough?

My Blog

How do horses help us?

I feel sorry for the guy that runs our local river stable, and even jocks to a certain extent, because when riding is your business it is hard to truly enjoy it.  A horse ride helps us to unwind ...
