Danii Amir is hopefully on his way to Spirtual Enlightenment, but obviously, still has quite a bit of ground yet to cover. His Radical left-leaning Utopian ideas are shared by 0.0317 percent of his fellow Israelis - including his beloved wife, two cats and three boys - but as a descendant of a long line of cantors, he is profoundly optimistic, and sees this as "something to build on".
His first album "Staged Withdrawl" (CBS, 1987) was produced by Miki Shaviv, who also played guitars and bass. Other musicians on this album were Moshe Levy, Jean Paul Zimbris and Ariel Zilber, (who actually played trumpet on one song).
Two years later, he formed "Things I Did With My Sister" with Yossi Perets, Tzachi Har Nevo and Boaz Berman (who later went on to create "Mayumana"). The band was successful onstage, but disbanded after a few years only to regroup in 1998 and record the self-named album (Hed Arzi, 1998).
During 93-95 Amir formed Luxor with Erez Lev Ari, Boaz Berman and Itai Zilber. Amir later formed and played with The Solar System Sissies, and still jams with Underground Supergroup Hayarkon 70.
The new album “8 Songs About God & the Occupation” - was released on November 23rd - and features Erez Lev Ari, Moshe Levy, Dan Toren and Shaul Eliyahu.
